Ethiopia COVID-19 Response Team hosted an appreciation lunch for the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Monday, August 24th. Sponsored by Jupiter International Hotel Addis Ababa’s affiliate Agelgil Restaurant, Universal Printing Press, and Etan Comics - Home of African Superheroes, the lunch included remarks by Dr. Abraham and the distribution of flyers to say thank you to the hospital staff. ⁣⁣

In 2 weeks, ECRT will host a special lunch for all essential workers at St. Peter’s and showcase the Winner’s Artwork as a token of appreciation for their incredible work in battling COVID-19. This campaign is also dedicated to Breonna Taylor♥️

Covid-19 is spread mainly in three different ways:

1. The virus can be spread via droplets when someone sneezes, coughs or speaks.

2. The virus can be spread by shaking hands.

3. The virus can be spread on surfaces.

Practice social distancing by standing at least 2 meters away to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Please limit going outside your home for essential needs only, to purchase food or medicine. Order delivery from one of our partners when you can! When you are outside, even for a walk, wear a face mask and stay two meters away from others.

Per the WHO Health Emergency Dashboard Case Tracking, on May 17th there were 306 cases of COVID-19 in Ethiopia and as of today, May 24th, there are 494 cases.

This is a 61% increase in 1-week.

Please do your part and stay home when you can, wear a mask when available, and pass the information to family and friends. What you do as an individual makes a difference to the society.

While Covid-19 can harm and affect any age group, it is especially dangerous to those 65+ and those with pre-existing conditions.
When you protect yourself from Covid-19, you are also protecting these most vulnerable groups.

Remember to wash your hands, avoid touching your face, and practice social distancing.

Coronavirus Myth 🚨: Remedies using items found in the home, like garlic, honey, salt, vinegars, ginger, essential oils, etc., can cure or prevent all viruses. ⁣

Fact: You can use these home remedies to simply boost your immune system but there is no cure for coronavirus at the moment. Our best defense to prevent ourselves from contracting and spreading the virus is to frequently wash our hands for at least 20 seconds, wear a face mask in public, and practice physical distancing.💡⁣
