Nevada Alliance for Student Diversity

Nevada Alliance for Student Diversity NASD promotes the equality of gender diverse, racially diverse, and neurodiverse students in Nevada.

The CCSD Board of Trustees’ own governance policies require every trustee to represent all students and families, operate respectfully, avoid ideological positions that polarize groups of constituents, and foster a positive and safe learning climate. Policy 5138 also commits CCSD to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for gender-diverse students at ALL District facilities.

These responsibilities apply in the boardroom, including the personal messages trustees choose to display from the dais.

Thank you, Amanda, for showing up as a local ally and a thoughtful, composed voice from our community when transgender students and their families needed a friend in the room.

And trans youth are welcome in CCSD.

To all trans youth: We’ll never stop fighting for your freedom to be who you are. As you head back to school, know that we have your back.

Two weeks from today, CCSD students head back to school!

DON'T FORGET! CCSD has changed school start and dismissal times for the 2026–2027 school year. Now is a good time to check your student’s exact schedule and start planning adjustments to those bedtimes and morning routines.

General start times:

• Middle schools: 7:30 a.m.
• High schools: 8:30 a.m.
• Elementary schools: 9:15 a.m.

Some schools have different schedules, so please confirm your individual school’s times at https://weareccsd.net/4dWwQ1t

Reach out if we can help with your child's IEP, 504 or Gender Support Plan for the new school year!
