💙 Dear Church,
Yesterday I shared about something I’ve noticed as Levi gets older. The world responds differently to a 15-year-old making noises, moving differently, or struggling in public than it did to a little boy doing those same things.
Today, I want to talk specifically to the Church.
But first, I want to say thank you.
I see children’s ministries learning more about special needs. I see people finding ways to include kids who may not sit quietly through a service or participate like everyone else. I see churches asking, “What can we do to help?”
As a special-needs mom—and as a pastor’s wife—I know it isn’t always easy.
So when I see a church willing to try, it means more than you probably realize.
I just want to ask you one thing:
Please don’t let that grace have an age limit.
The noisy little boy, the noisy teenager, the child who needs to get up, and the adult who won’t sit still all need a place. They are part of the body of Christ.
First Corinthians 12:22 says, “Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary.”
They have value.
They have a place.
They belong.
Dear Church, thank you for loving them when they’re little.
And thank you for making room as they grow. 💙
