From campus to the Legislature, Jeremiah Program Las Vegas student-mothers are stepping into rooms where decisions are made. ☺️

Jeremiah Program moms spent the day inside the State of Nevada Legislature Office Building and the Nevada Legislature Hearing Rooms right here in Las Vegas.

They got a special behind-the-scenes look at where policy takes shape and leadership shows up. And the building? Next level!

But what mattered most was who was in the room.

These are the moments that shift perspective.

Where JP student-moms don’t just imagine new possibilities, they see them 🔥🤏🏽🤏🏽.

A powerful thank you to Assemblymember Erica Mosca, first-generation college graduate, former teacher, nonprofit founder & executive director, small business owner, and the first Filipina to serve in the Nevada State Legislature—for opening the doors and pouring into our students with intention and care.

Thank you to the staff members at the legislative office for not just the tour but their hospitality, their service, and for making us feel right at home.

This is what access looks like.
This is what representation feels like.

A crucial goal for JP leaders is ensuring their work remains grounded in community.

“When my son Taj was born, I remember being struck by the power of someone so tiny to completely reorient my life. It reminds me that what seems small—our stories, our voices, our everyday acts of care—can reshape communities in ways we don’t always see at first,” JP Las Vegas Executive Director, Maria Tucker, shared during a panel at JP’s annual Summit Weekend.

From coloring and dancing to heartfelt share circles, this day was full of joy and meaning.
Our JP families and Pomona College students came together to create space for both fun and powerful conversations—where moms and children shared what Jeremiah Program means to them (yes, there were tears and laughter 🥹💚).
Moments like these remind us: when community shows up, futures are changed.

33 Academic All-Stars — each earning a 3.0 GPA or higher, with eight achieving a 4.0 or above. We are so proud of these moms, who model the value of education through their actions every day, especially for their children. Grateful to Aristocrat Gaming for partnering with us to support their academic journeys. 🎓
