✨ Moms Move the City: Day of Advocacy ✨

Our moms didn’t just learn about advocacy—they stepped into spaces where decisions are made and their voices matter. 💜

During our Day of Advocacy, JP moms had the opportunity to tour the Strong Start GO! Mobile Pre-K bus, learn more about City of Las Vegas initiatives, and hear from community leaders and organizations working to strengthen childcare access and support Nevada families.

We were grateful to learn alongside and hear from Childcare Changemakers, Children’s Advocacy Alliance, and the Family Child Care Association of Nevada, as well as Councilwoman Nancy Brune and Councilwoman Olivia Diaz.

Days like this are what Moms Move the City is all about—building knowledge, strengthening advocacy skills, making connections, and empowering moms to use their lived experiences to help shape the policies and systems that impact their families and communities. 🏛️✨

Because when moms have a seat at the table, they don’t just participate in change—they help lead it. 💪🏾💜

“Yesterday, The New York Times reported that the Trump administration is moving to redirect federal child care subsidies
- funds specifically designed to help working parents - to married couples with a stay-at-home spouse.
Let’s be clear: this proposal would impact nearly 90 percent of Jeremiah Program families. For working families, child care is oxygen. It is also infrastructure. And this proposal is asking us to decide which families get access to that infrastructure and who loses oxygen.
If this moves forward, it will pull the rug out from under the low-income single working moms who need that support
