Rotary District 5300

Rotary District 5300 Serving the Rotary Clubs of Southern California to Southern Nevada. The founding of the Pasadena Rotary Club in 1920 signaled the beginning of District 5300.

The District now comprises 64 clubs and approximately 2000 members. District 5300 takes pride in the Rotarians from the District who provide a tradition of leadership to the Rotary world. We pride ourselves on the Diversity of our Members representing many vocations, ethnic backgrounds, and lifestyles. Rotary membership is open to those who want to serve their community and the world. District 5300 comprises portion of Kern County south of 35° north and east of 118°15’ west longitude; that portion of Los Angeles County east of 118°15’ west longitude and north of the southern boundary of the Angeles National Forest; the western boundary of Altadena, the City of Pasadena, the city of South Pasadena, the City of Alhambra, the City of Monterey Park extending, the area of he City of Los Angeles defined as East Los Angeles (Zip Code 90023) and the City of Montebello, the City of La Puente, the area of Los Angeles County extending east and north of the City of Whittier; that portion of San Bernardino County west of Interstate 15, and that portion extending east from interstate 15 north of latitude 34° 20’and west of longitude 115° west; and all of NEVADA, south of 38° north latitude.

Accessibility isn’t a feature. It’s a mindset.

When we think about barriers, our minds often go to the physical ones. A staircase instead of a ramp. A room without captions. A doorway too narrow.

But what about the barriers we can’t see?

The invitation that was never extended.
The meeting time that excludes working families.
The language that makes someone feel like they don’t belong.
The traditions we never question because “that’s how we’ve always done it.”

Rotary’s Core Values challenge us to do better.

Service asks us to remove obstacles.
Fellowship asks us to make room at the table.
Integrity asks us to recognize where we can improve.
Diversity reminds us that every person brings value.
Leadership asks us to create spaces where everyone has the opportunity to contribute.

This Disability Pride Month, let’s challenge ourselves to look beyond compliance and toward belonging.

Not because people need to fit into our clubs.

Because our clubs should be designed so more people can see themselves in Rotary.

Every barrier we remove is another opportunity for someone to lead, serve, laugh, connect, and discover the Rotary so many of us have fallen in love with.

This month, ask yourself one simple question:

What barrier can I help remove so someone else can fully belong?

Because when everyone can participate, everyone benefits.

Rotary Friendship Day at the Ballpark!

The Rotary Club of Glendora—home club of District Governor Dennis Franklin—is inviting Rotarians, family, and friends from across District 5300 to join us for a fun-filled evening at the beautiful new ONT Field, home of the Ontario Tower Buzzers.

The Tower Buzzers are the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, competing in the California League, and this is a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship while cheering on one of baseball's newest teams in their state-of-the-art stadium.

Please take a moment to read the attached flyer carefully. Your RSVP is a commitment to purchase tickets. Because the club must provide the stadium with a guaranteed head count before tickets are issued, the Rotary Club of Glendora becomes financially responsible for any reserved tickets that are not purchased. After the final count is submitted, everyone who RSVP'd will receive a private purchase link from Shelly Gore so our group can sit together.

We hope you'll join us for an evening of baseball, fellowship, and Rotary fun—we're looking forward to seeing clubs from throughout District 5300 there!

The conversation continues… and this one has the power to reshape how we think about the future of Rotary.

Except it’s not really about the future.

It’s about recognizing the leaders who are ready today.

Rotaract is no longer just a destination before Rotary. It’s a community of innovators, changemakers, and leaders already making an extraordinary impact. If we truly want to strengthen our Rotary pipeline, we must stop thinking about passing the torch and start building alongside one another.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the District Leadership was received from 2025 - 2026 District Governor, Gilda Moshir.

Many projects were spearheaded and sprinted through the marathon under Gilda's leadership.

We are grateful for the opportunity to get to work with Gilda this last year, and we look forward to her future involvement with Rotary and District 5300.
