The findings from our recent medical outreach in Kpatinga continue to spark important conversations around preventive healthcare and infectious disease awareness in underserved communities. 𝐀 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐫 𝐅𝐌 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 highlights key outcomes from the outreach, including the discovery that approximately 𝟏 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟓 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 screened within the verified sample tested positive for at least one major viral condition, including Hepatitis B, HIV, and Hepatitis C.

Beyond the statistics lies a much deeper reality. Following the release of our 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 on the growing infectious disease burden identified during our Kpatinga medical outreach, 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 for the urgent need for stronger preventive healthcare measures across vulnerable communities.

The data from Kpatinga serves as a clear call for urgent preventive action. Open Letter to the Northern Regional Public Health Directorate on Emerging Disease Burden in Rural Communities

Dear Director,

I am writing to you on behalf of Give Basic Needs to formally share the deeply concerning clinical findings from our recent medical deployment, designated as Project 0079. On April 19, 2026, our organization mobilized a coalition of local medical professional volunteers and our diaspora team to execute a comprehensive health screening and outreach event in Kpatinga, within the Gushegu municipality.

Our Forensic Impact Analysis of Project 0079 reveals a profound resource vacuum in our rural communities. The data demonstrates that 𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏 𝐢𝐧 𝟏𝟓 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞-𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐁, 𝐇𝐈𝐕, 𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐂. In response to this imminent threat, our medical teams executed emergency interventions on-site, immediately delivering 𝟓𝟎𝟐 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐝𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐁 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 to seronegative individuals to establish immunological memory and block further transmission. We also distributed 𝟔𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐬 to mitigate socio-economic vulnerability and provide a physical barrier against disease transmission.

However, we must respectfully bring a critical caveat to your attention: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏-𝐢𝐧-𝟏𝟓 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧. Due to the accuracy limitations of certain rapid diagnostic tests in the field—such as the high false-positive rates of Widal diagnostic kits for Typhoid—pathogens like Malaria, Meningitis, and Typhoid were excluded from this specific metric. When we factor in the prevalence of these additional life-threatening diseases, particularly the Multi-Drug Resistant Salmonella Typhi Genotype 3.1.1 superbug and the seasonal threat of Meningitis A, the true magnitude of the crisis is exponentially worse.

To put the sheer scale of this emergency into perspective: 𝐖𝐞 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟖 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟎 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞.

We must remember the heavy, lifelong toll of these illnesses. Much like HIV, once a person contracts Hepatitis B, the anti-viral medications required to sustain their health must continue indefinitely. If these medications run out, their lives are at immediate risk. Treating these diseases requires massive, continuous funding that is currently unavailable. Yet, we can prevent Hepatitis B right now for a cost of only about 30 Cedi per person.

This exponential growth in disease transmission is the tragic consequence of the abrupt withdrawal of United States foreign assistance. The permanent closure of USAID and the suspension of nearly $4 billion in global health programs and over $6 billion from HIV/AIDS (PEPFAR) initiatives have completely fractured the supply chains that provided our nation's medical treatments. Without the consistent influx of antiretrovirals, artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs), and antibiotics, untreated illnesses are spreading rapidly throughout the country.

Because the international funding required to medically treat these diseases has evaporated, we can no longer rely on reactive treatment. Without immediate preventative action today, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬.

Therefore, Give Basic Needs urgently requests that the Public Health Directorate immediately deploy mass targeted vaccinations and reinstate COVID-19 type restrictions nationwide, specifically enforcing rigorous social distancing mandates and heightening strict WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) protocols.

To halt the exponential spread of these pathogens, we must utilize a dual strategy:

𝟏. 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐬 & 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: WASH—defined fundamentally as the provision of safely managed drinking water via mechanized boreholes, the safe containment and treatment of human excreta (sanitation), and the strict practice of handwashing with soap at critical times—is our ultimate physical barrier against disease transmission. In the absence of viable antibiotic treatments for MDR strains of Typhoid, enforcing mandatory WASH stations, preventing mass gatherings, and restricting proximity in public spaces are statistically vital to physical containment.

𝟐. 𝐀𝐠𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: We must urgently prioritize high-leverage vaccinations to establish biological defenses in the population. Deploying the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) to combat the MDR Typhoid superbug, the Hepatitis B vaccine, and the MenAfriVac vaccine to prevent seasonal Meningitis A epidemics, is critical to neutralizing these threats before they require costly, currently unavailable reactive treatments.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐊𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩. If aggressive physical barriers, strict WASH mandates, and preventative vaccinations are not deployed immediately to compensate for the loss of USAID-funded medical treatments, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Our recent medical outreach in Kpatinga revealed something deeply important about healthcare access in underserved communities. While over 1,000 residents were reached during the outreach, a forensic review of 630 verified clinical records identified 𝟒𝟏 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬, including Hepatitis B, HIV, and Hepatitis C. For many individuals, this may have been the first time they became aware of their condition.

Beyond screenings, the outreach focused heavily on prevention and immediate intervention. 𝐀 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝟓𝟎𝟐 𝐇𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐁 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 were administered on-site to eligible beneficiaries who tested negative, while community-wide deworming, wound care, sanitary support, and health education were also provided. Our visiting volunteers from the United States worked alongside local health professionals to support wound cleaning, dressing, and basic treatment within the community.

These findings reinforce a larger reality: 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. The need for 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐇 (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) systems remains critical in protecting vulnerable populations from preventable diseases and reducing long-term health burdens in rural communities. At the same time, these individuals who tested positive for viral conditions require 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. Without continued medical support, many of these conditions can progress into severe long-term health complications that place lives at significant risk.

Today, on 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we celebrate the compassion, dedication, and resilience of nurses across the world who continue to play a vital role in creating healthier communities.

At 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬, we have had the privilege of 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 and health professionals during our outreach programs 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚. From health screenings and vaccinations to wound care and community education, their commitment continues to impact lives and bring hope to underserved communities.

What began as a planned 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐫 in Nawuhugu quickly became a powerful example of adaptability and community impact. Due to unforeseen regional unrest, the event could not proceed as scheduled. Rather than pause operations, the team restructured the initiative and successfully carried out a community feeding outreach from our 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 on 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, ensuring that support continued to reach those in need.

With a coordinated effort led by local women and supported by volunteers, large quantities of jollof rice were prepared, packaged, and distributed. Through this collective work, we delivered 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟐,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 to vulnerable groups across the community. The outreach included a visit to the Martha Inspires Foundation, an organization focused on reducing child illiteracy and empowering young people through reading and mentorship programs. Meals were also delivered to the 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐤𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜, a charitable health facility in Tamale that provides free medical care, shelter, and daily support to the poor, destitute, and individuals living with mental health conditions. In addition, meals were shared with children and residents around the Tamale community, creating opportunities for direct engagement and connection.

This experience reinforces an important reality: when circumstances change, the need does not. By remaining flexible and focused, we transformed a setback into meaningful support, ensuring that care and relief reached those who needed it most. It is through moments like these that we continue to demonstrate the impact of collective action in strengthening communities.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲, as we mark 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐲, 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 reflects on the important connection between dignified work, community health, and sustainable development.

In Northern Ghana, we continue to see how empowering skilled individuals can create meaningful change within communities. Through our 𝐑𝐍 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 under the 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, we support qualified healthcare professionals to operate decentralized 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐮𝐛𝐬, expanding access to care while creating opportunities for independent practice and long-term impact.

We also recognize the𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, from ground teams to medical professionals. Their collective efforts, including those demonstrated during the recent outreach in Kpatinga, make it possible for us to reach communities, touch lives, and deliver meaningful impact.

At Give Basic Needs, we recognize that mental health is strengthened not only through reflection, but also through connection and activity. Creating opportunities for people to engage, interact, and build relationships is essential for building healthy and resilient communities.

𝐎𝐧 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, our team hosted an evening of sports and community engagement at the 𝐆𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐠𝐮 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐟, bringing together participants for a shared experience of teamwork, connection, and fun. The gathering also provided an opportunity to 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐠𝐮 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭, as a large number of community members came together to witness and take part in the event.

A total of 60 participants took part in the games, with some teams made up of under-13 players and others in the 18+ category. We had four teams in total, and each team received a set of football jerseys along with a football and pump. 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝, and the President of the Foundation, 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢, addressed the participants, commending their hard work, dedication to sports, and the spirit of teamwork they demonstrated. Some of our visiting volunteers from the United States also joined the local teams, demonstrating inclusion and strengthening the sense of unity on the field.

There was a great deal of excitement throughout the event, and we are glad to have created a space where people could come together, connect, and enjoy the moment. Sport remains one of the most effective ways to support mental well-being, and through this initiative, we encouraged teamwork, reduced social barriers, and fostered a strong sense of belonging. This reflects our continued commitment to creating opportunities that bring communities together and support overall well-being.

At Give Basic Needs, we believe that true well-being goes beyond physical health. While access to clean water and healthcare remains critical, 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, especially for young people.

On April 20, 2026, our team hosted a dedicated 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐮 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 in the Gushegu Municipality, creating a safe and engaging space for children to express themselves.

We were excited to welcome 𝟏𝟔𝟐 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 who participated in a guided art workshop focused on creativity, mindfulness, and emotional expression. Through drawing, coloring, and simple activities like origami, the children were encouraged to slow down, reflect, and channel their thoughts in a positive way. 𝐄𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐤 to carry their art supplies and continue exploring their creativity beyond the session.

To ensure the impact extended further, we also prepared donations for𝟒𝟎 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 who were unable to attend and left extra art supplies to benefit over 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.

This initiative highlights the importance of creating moments of calm, creativity, and self-expression for children, especially in communities where such opportunities are limited.
