The winners—and STILL CHAMPIONS—of the Annual First Responder Cookofff are your Clark County Firefighters! Thank you to Via Brasil Steakhouse in Summerlin!

Not only did everyone who came by to cheer on your Clark County Fire Department firefighters and members of the LVMPD enjoy a complimentary lunch, Via Brasil will be contributing 10% of their proceeds from Friday night's service to our Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund. Thank you to all the judges, our LVMPD fellow first responders, Via Brasil, and everyone who came out!

Today is the BIG day! LVMPD versus Clark County Fire Department in a friendly culinary competition where the entire community wins! Via Brasil Steakhouse is hosting this event and attendees who make a charitable donation to either LVMPD Foundation or Proud to Rescue will receive a complimentary lunch😋. This year, we were proud to award our member scholarship to Giada Lucia Gonzalez. We couldn’t be more proud to contribute to Giada’s continuing education and we wish her nothing but the best this fall at school and on the tennis court!

In April, our 5th Annual Fire Classic Charity Golf Tournament took to the links at Angel Park. With our biggest turnout ever, we cannot thank our sponsors and competitors enough. For the record, the team From Battle Born Injury Lawyers won. And while we’re sure their score was accurate, we’re pretty sure they had at least one ringer on their team. Allegedly. That said, like all our partners, we are extremely happy to have their support, even if we will be checking their scorecard closely next year.

For years, our firefighters, our Local, and our Benevolent Fund have participated in the St. Baldrick's Foundation for the Cure event every year. But in 2026, we made sure to step up our presence. St. Baldrick’s began this annual tradition back in 1999 and since then they’ve not only shaved millions of heads, they’ve raised literally millions of dollars to fight childhood cancer and fund cancer research . We were extremely proud to bring a team to this year’s event and we look forward to coming back even balder in 2027.

Another partnership we were extremely proud to kickoff in 2025, was our partnership with OY6 Bourbon Founded by veterans, OY6 likes to say they serve those who serve. As members of the fire service, this is something that our Fund and our firefighters really enjoy. In 2025, OY6 created our own batch of bourbon with a limited edition challenge coin for sale through Lee’s Liquors. The proceeds from these bottles went to our Benevolent Fund and we look forward to working with OY6 for many years to come.
