Our giveaway was a huge success. We were able to raise awareness and funds for the cause.

The best part by far was getting to interact and engage with the Comic Con Fans. Everyone who stopped by the booth was so fun & energetic. Big shout out to all of the Cosplayers🦸 who took pics & videos for & with the SVFA team.

A special Thank You to the active duty military🇺🇲 members who spent the weekend volunteering to help our mission.

Most importantly, Thank You to & all of the shops, businesses, & artists that made contributions. This weekend would not have been a success without you.🙏🏼 Looking forward to next year. 😉

It's difficult to progress without a little help. SVFA gets a lot of it from everywhere. From businesses, other NPOs, the community, strangers, and even other Fire Departments. In this case Station 305 showed some love by donating utility rope to Yermo Fire Station. While this is one of the many examples of support. We are grateful for all of it.🙏🏼

Shout out 📣to Capt. Edie👨‍🚒

The North Hi-Desert is a unique region in SoCal. It’s part of the Mojave desert. It is hot & dry and is rich in history. The famed route 66 passed directly through it.The I-15 & I-40 freeways are the main routes for people traveling from hot spot tourist destinations like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, & Lake Havasu.

Because of these blended circumstances, emergency response in the region is equally unique. The responding agencies in the region collectively decided to collaborate on training efforts so we can provide the best service to the local community and commuters. The First Tuesday Training program was born. Since 2018 multiple emergency response agencies have been working collectively to train on the first Tuesday of every month. Over the years. The topics range vastly, from fire suppression, vehicle extrication, and helicopter operations to active shooter drills.

It has been historical to see the amazing progress the region has benefited from this program.

However, All good things come to an end.

The progress made is not just amazing, it’s the name of the game. Effective 2023, as agreed by all mutual aid partners and SVFA board of directors. We will no longer be training on the First Tuesday of every month. Instead, all mutual aid collaborators will be meeting on the Saturdays for First Saturday Drills (FSD)

The First Saturday of February marked the inaugural training day of FTT’s replacement. The topic was Radio Communications led by CALFIRE ECC Dispatcher Captain Mota. In addition to the scenario-based training, all in attendance had a special treat in store as the local Raising Canes donated lunch!

While the end of FTT might close the end of a monumental program. First Saturday Drills is the beginning of a more enthusiastic chapter for the emergency responders in the N. Hi-Desert.

Gabe Morrison is a 26-year-old volunteer firefighter at the Daggett Fire Department. He is recently married and a new Father. He has served in the region for over a year. When asked about his experience running calls he stated,

"I feel proud being able to help provide a higher standard, level of care, and good customer service to the Silver Valley and all who pass through it."

Gabe has ambitions of becoming a career firefighter. He has taken initiative and time away from his young family to travel to Texas for a Fire Academy. He's doing this to earn nationally recognized fire certifications. What most don't know, people like Gabe have to pay out-of-pocket expenses to get these certifications.

SVFA is proud to announce that .gabe is the recipient of a $2500 scholarship to help pay tuition so he can serve the community more efficiently.

Thank You to all Silver Valley Fire Alliance supporters. Without you we could not help volunteer firefighters Do More!
