It’s Winston and someone please adopt him - he’s very energetic, loves to run and play and annoy the other dogs and sit on your lap and snuggle close but when it’s awake time, he knows no boundaries and for that reason he needs someone who will teach him manners and how to just be a good boy. He’s a very young one year old, min pin and he’s up to date on shots, microchipped, good with other dogs big and little, cats and kids! And here they are!!! A huge welcome to Chester and Hazel! Chester and Hazel were confiscated along with 25 others in the home. They spent a long 12 days in the shelter on confiscate hold. Currently, they are at our vet being examined, prodded and poked, lab work done as well as our other normal intake purposes and both will be scheduled for dental and spay/neuter surgeries at a minimum depending on lab results. They also are in need of a spa day as little tiny Hazel is very matted with f***s stuck to her butt. Chester is 9 years old with many missing teeth and the teeth he does have need attention and he’s not neutered. Chester weighed in yesterday at 5.3 pounds. Hazel is 10 years old and has many missing teeth as well and those remaining need attention and she’s not spayed. Hazel weighed in yesterday at 3.1 pounds, a tiny little gal with a huge personality. We are giving them time to decompress from being locked up for so long. In the meantime we need help with their vetting. Ways to donate:

NOTICE! These two are not taking applications yet - they still need to go through our vetting process!!!

Oh my! Incoming! It’s Chester and Hazel and no they are not bonded - they came from a home and were confiscated along with 25 others! Weighing in at 4 and 3 pounds! More on Chester and Hazel in the next couple of days! So excited! ❤️🐾❤️

Some posts are harder to write….this post has us torn apart…our very sweet and beautiful Pennie has been hospitalized since Wednesday on fluids and supportive care, her temperature wouldn’t stay up, her kidneys were gone, she wouldn’t eat and this time we couldn’t pull her back up, she was suffering and we made the decision to let her go this afternoon….this wasn’t the Pennie that fought so hard for several weeks, this Pennie just wasn’t there anymore and now she’s wrapped in the loving arms of angels, forever free from pain and happy and running….Pennie taught us so much, the resiliency of a dog trying to come back after all the neglect she suffered. We don’t know if the outcome would’ve been different for her had the Henderson shelter actually paid attention to the tiny, extremely critical little gal they had placed in adoptions….we don’t know if the dental and anesthesia they gave her actually threw her over the edge…..we’ll never know if she would have had a better chance had someone there noticed how critical this little dog was sitting in adoptions at the shelter or how heartless their response was when we asked for help treating her. We do know that Park Animal Hospital gave their all to her and got her well enough that she had weeks of love and happiness and with a family that actually cared, unlike her neglectful and abusive owners that knew she was at the shelter and made the choice to leave her there. Thank you Regan Tabor-From and family for loving her so much and thank you Regan for holding her as she passed. It’s never ever easy and it’s the part of rescue we don’t want to happen…Thank you sweet Pennie for teaching us more - we will never forget you, you will always hold a special space in our hearts….💔🐾💔

These two won’t be going on the adoption sites until this weekend so now is your chance…..

Bailie is ready for adoption….all of her vetting is completed and she’s doing well…..Bailie is 5 years old and happy, friendly, very social, playful, and as a bonus, housetrained. She’s up to date on shots, fixed, microchipped and we gave her a dental a week ago. Bailie is just a perfect dog! Bailie is ready for adoption. Then there’s Winston! Winston is just a baby at one year old and the cutest min pin mix we know! Because Winston is so young and was hospitalized over a month, he still needs to learn….he’s very energetic, will need help with manners and training. He would do so well with another young playful dog in the home or a young kid or two. Winston is microchipped and up to date on shots and will be scheduled for neuter in about 3 weeks. Adoption will finalize at that time. We want him completely healed first.
