Big Kitty Fix Our mission is to reduce the number of cats entering our local animal shelter. We will accomplish t Cats, especially feral cats, have no chance of making it out.

In 2011, 80% of all felines that entered the shelter were euthanized. Briefly, there are too few adopters to provide homes for the local population. People who leave the locale often abandon their unfixed pets, who then forage for themselves, breed, and increase the population even more. The Big Kitty Fix hopes to reduce these deaths with the two-fold approach of increasing awareness and education

, and providing affordable spay/neuter options. Working with the Coalition and Dr. Amy Starr, a local veterinarian, with a mobile spay-neuter van, the Program schedules events around the county, and uses web sites and pages to inform the community.

Say hello to Baby Girl (14 yrs.) and Abby (12 yrs.). These two girls are in need of a new home, as their former guardian has passed away. Since this is the only home they've ever known, it will take them some time to adjust to a new environment, but with time and patience, it can be done. If you have a place in your home for these girls, even just temporarily until other accommodations can be found, please contact Michelle at 575-639-3036. They must be out of their current home by August 1. Thank You!
