As we reflect on the first The Signal Run- You Are Not Alone, there are a lot of people to thank for helping bring this mission to life.
First, to my wife Erika Villanueva β thank you for believing in this mission, for standing beside me through every challenge, and for helping build what we are creating through the Awareness Warriors Foundation. None of this happens without you.
To Pete Saenz III of Bodify Functional Fitnessβ thank you for your friendship, partnership, and for always showing up. From training to events, your support means more than you know. A true Awareness Warrior.
A sincere thank you to Judge Joe Rathmell and the Zapata County Commissioners Court, Commissioner Jose A. βJoeyβ Solis, for believing in this mission and officially recognizing The Signal Run: You Are Not Alone Day through a county proclamation. That recognition means more than words can express.
Thank you to the Zapata County Sheriffβs Office, Sheriff Ramon E. Montes , Ramon Arambula for helping ensure everyone stayed safe, Zapata County Constables of Precincts 1 & 4, Commissioner David Moya of Precinct 1, Jessica Hurtado for helping organize local vendors and rally Zapata community support, Judge Oscar R. Liendo, Luis Lopez of MyPop, L&F Distributors, Ricky Garza and Zapata Roadrunners Road Racing, Stripes 2197, and the VA Su***de Prevention Coordinator for supporting this movement.
To everyone who showed up, supported, volunteered, donated, walked, ran, carried a name, or believed in the mission β thank you for helping make this possible.
What happened in Zapata was bigger than a run. It was proof that people are willing to show up for one another, and that no one should ever have to fight alone.
Depression hates a moving target β and we are moving together.
Thank you Eugene Ruiz and everyone that has sent pictures. Please tag us on your posts and stories- love to hear the impact of your journey π«
