After next week’s 5-day filmmaking intensive, campers will be ready to screen their two finished SLASHER SHORTS on the biiig screen Alamo Drafthouse Laredo. 🎞️ (PLUS, you get to watch the superior FRIDAY THE 13th — part 4!🩸)

We’ll discuss how sometimes Be Gay, Do Crime means just that! LGBTQ+ folks have historically been criminalized all over the world, so sometimes organizing an uprising IS the answer.

🎥 After the intro/discussion, we’ll watch a 1983 docu-fiction film about a dystopia in which the issues of many minorities, gay rights orgs, feminists, and women in general are dealt with by the government.

Hard launching our first ever Music Video Night! Yes, just like the pregame ritual where q***r fans of pop come together to watch pop music videos at someone’s place! ✨

The theme for this one is 🩸GAY HORROR🩸. LFS Board Member VICTORIA SANDOVAL curated a playlist of iconically q***r music videos that give gay, horror, or both.

It’s all about the q***r community connecting over media we all know and love. 🫶🏽

In the spirit of film education and exploration (we’ve heard/read your suggestions!), board member landed on a series of movies about movies, tackling film history across decades, genres, and movements.

This 6-day camp is the space to learn how to make movies (or hone your skills!) by ACTUALLY making movie — in a summer camp setting straight out of a slasher movie. 🔪🎥

🪵 CAMP SCHEDULE (everyone attends all days!) 🪵
- June 22-23 | 1-9 PM | hands-on film workshops, lectures, & camp activities
- June 24-25 | 1-9 PM | shoot TWO horror short films!
- June 26 | 9 AM - 5 PM | editing day!
- June 27 | public screening of your short slashers + a feature-length slasher at Alamo Drafthouse ()
