FINAL night of LFS Study Hall: ¡MALDITO CINE!, our deep-dive screening series on Mexican gothic movies. 🖤🎥 🇲🇽

We’ve loved exploring and analyzing gothic Mexican cinema with y’all, and we’re closing out with a banger. ✨ This session is on futurism, which means we’ll talk about where Mexican gothic cinema was in the 90s, where it is now, and where it’s headed!

🎞️ ITINERARY:

1) Deep-dive introduction lecture by LFS board member miss gaby. 📚

2) Screening of a 90s Mexican gothic film! (Hint in graphic) 🎞️

3) Discussion - YOUR thoughts, feelings, interpretations, questions. 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏽‍♂️

4) 🎹BONUS!: After party to close out ¡Maldito Cine! - A concert film that features a certain 80s synth-pop band’s sold-out run in Mexico City, exploring Mexico’s relationship with music, mortality, and tradition. Caile, we’ll dance!

🎟️ Get tickets at laredofilm.org/tickets

P.S. This session is also a celebration of GDT’s birthdayyyy! 🖤🎂🎉
