A NEW CHAPTER FOR WEBB COUNTY LULAC COUNCIL #22387!

New Leadership. Renewed Commitment. A Stronger Future.

Webb County LULAC Council #22387 is pleased to announce that Raul Reyes, our Council's Founder and Past President, will serve as Interim President, ushering in a renewed commitment to leadership, membership engagement, community service, and organizational growth.

Founded in 2019, our Council has proudly worked to advance education, leadership development, civic engagement, and opportunities for the people of Laredo and Webb County. From recognizing hundreds of outstanding students through our 8th Grade Scholar Program to empowering the next generation through our growing LULAC Youth Council, our accomplishments reflect what is possible when individuals come together with a shared purpose.

But every organization reaches moments when it must reflect, reconnect, and rediscover the passion that brought its members together.

Today, we embrace that opportunity.

🔥 INTRODUCING PROJECT 22387: REIGNITE!

Under the leadership of Interim President Raul Reyes, our Council will embark on an organizational revitalization initiative built around four priorities:

🤝 RECONNECT — Reengage current and former members, strengthen relationships, and restore the sense of belonging that makes our Council special.

🏛️ REBUILD — Strengthen our leadership, increase membership participation, develop new leaders, and create meaningful opportunities for every member to contribute.

🔥 REENERGIZE — Restore enthusiasm, recognize our volunteers, celebrate our accomplishments, and renew the pride of being part of LULAC.

🌟 GROW — Expand our membership, strengthen our community partnerships, empower our youth, and ensure our Council remains a powerful voice for generations to come.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR INTERIM PRESIDENT

"When I founded this Council in 2019, my vision was never to build an organization centered around one person. It was to create a place where individuals from different backgrounds could come together, develop as leaders, serve their community, and make a lasting difference.

Today, I return to a leadership role with that same belief and an even greater determination to strengthen what we started.

Our Council belongs to its members. Its success depends not on one individual, but on the collective commitment, ideas, talents, and passion of everyone who believes in our mission.

We have accomplished remarkable things together, but I firmly believe our greatest accomplishments are still ahead of us.

To our current members, thank you for your continued dedication. To our former members, the door is always open. And to those who have considered joining LULAC, there has never been a better time to become part of our family.

During the press conference, we will share details about this year's event, recognize the incredible community partners helping make it possible, and highlight the mission behind every step we take.

The STEPS Forward 5K/Walk is about much more than crossing a finish line. It is about coming together to Support, Educate, and Empower People and Survivors while standing alongside the courageous breast cancer warriors and families in our community. 🎀

We will also share information about how breast cancer warriors and survivors can participate as our honored guests during this year's event.

Tonight, we celebrated an incredible group of students for their hard work, leadership, and dedication to their education.

🌟 BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS 🌟

This morning, Webb County LULAC Council #22387 proudly hosted the first General Organization Meeting of the Webb County LULAC Youth Council, marking an important new chapter in our continued commitment to youth leadership, education, community service, and civic engagement.

As the official sponsoring LULAC Council, we are proud to provide our young members with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills, become more involved in their community, build meaningful connections, and learn firsthand the importance of service and advocacy.

During this morning’s meeting, students learned more about LULAC, the purpose and structure of a Youth Council, upcoming activities and initiatives, and the opportunities they will have to help shape the future of their organization.

Most importantly, today was about giving our youth a seat at the table and empowering them to use their voices.

For Webb County LULAC, investing in young people has always been at the heart of our mission. Through our educational, scholarship, recognition, and leadership initiatives, we remain committed to creating opportunities that encourage students to dream bigger, serve others, and become tomorrow’s community leaders.

We extend our appreciation to every student who participated, as well as the parents, volunteers, members, and supporters who continue to make opportunities like this possible.

This evening we will have the honor of celebrating some of the brightest young minds in our community as we recognize the April 2026 Webb County LULAC 8th Grade Scholars of the Month.

Each of these students represents excellence, not only in the classroom, but in leadership, character, and commitment to their future. They are a reflection of the strength of our schools, the support of their families, and the promise of our community.
