REMINDER!!!

We will be having practice tomorrow at 15:00-17:00 at the Laramie Rifle Range!

If you have not made plans to go already it would be a great idea to add it into your schedule.

We will be focusing again on fundamentals as we have only just started back up with practices and really want to drive home the proper skills and techniques associated with proper fi****ms handling and ex*****on.

We hope to see you at the range tomorrow!

The Pokes Marksmanship team has been hard at work!

As the weather is cooling down, we’re only just getting warmed up! The pokes have been building skills the past several meetings and have shown major improvement on basic skills learned and all are looking to improve even more!

The Pokes Marksmanship club is back at it!

After an unfortunate double booking at the range last week we were finally able to get back out and run with some more basics, this time incorporating mag changes and movement.

Welcome back Pokes!🤠

As we’re all settling into new classes and new schedules the Pokes Marksmanship team has had our first official meeting of the semester and we could not be more excited to be back! Our Captain and primary training officer Jacob Jewel, alongside secondary training officer/Co Captain Garrett Eker, went over fundamental shooting positions, proper stance, and functions of the rifle. Co Captain Bousman was working with other club members on breath control and trigger squeeze/control.

The club is open to all University of Wyoming students! If you or your friends want to gain more experience with fi****ms fundamentals and meet like minded individuals, we’re just the club for you!

Here’s to a great semester for the Pokes Marksmanship Club! For our last practice we shot various types of rifles, pistols, and revolvers that our members brought. We also had our annual raffle drawings. Congrats to Garrett Eker for winning the Range Bag and his dad for winning the Molle M**f! Lastly we announced our new leadership for next year.

Spring has sprung and the Pokes Marksmanship Club has been enjoying the much needed warmth! Friday was mostly dedicated to transitioning between a rifle on a sling and a service pistol. We continued to refine all of the skills taught this semester in culminating competition. On Saturday, members of the club assisted with the yearly work day at Laramie Rifle Range- it was a very exciting morning. Stay tuned for the raffle drawing on May 9th.

The marksmen are back from spring break and working hard. Over the last two weeks marksmen have been honing their M17 shooting skills as well as continuing to refine their rifle shooting skills. As the semester winds downs, marksmen show dedication to improving.

This week one of our captains, Jacob, led practice. The club refreshed their weapons reassembly skills and then followed it up with more shooting on the move. The last drill was a test to see who the most accurate prone shooter was.

Over the past few weeks, the Pokes Marksmanship Club has braved the Wyoming winter. The club has worked on prone shooting, reloading, simple movements, and weapons assembly and disassembly. Week after week marksmen continue to hone their skills.
