Meet Grace and Her Beautiful Kittens!

Grace is a young mama who has done an incredible job raising her six kittens. She is a gentle, sweet girl who is still a bit timid around people, but her loving nature shines through. Grace was an attentive, devoted mother, caring for her babies every step of the way and successfully weaning them when they were ready. Now it’s her turn to find a patient, loving home where she can continue to build her confidence.

Sage (Male) – Sage is an absolute sweetheart with a calm, laid-back personality. He is gentle, cuddly, and loves affection. His easygoing nature makes him a wonderful companion, and he would thrive in a home with another kitten.

Journey (Male) – Journey is another sweet, laid-back boy who has a playful side. He loves to explore and play but also enjoys cuddles. He would do wonderfully with another kitten to continue building his confidence and keep him entertained.

Phoenix (Male) – You’ll recognize Phoenix by the adorable little black spot on his nose. He’s a very sweet boy who continues to come out of his shell every day. He has a relaxed personality and enjoys spending time with his people.

River (Male) – River is Journey’s twin and shares his loving personality. He’s becoming more confident each day and has started following his foster mom around the house. He’s affectionate, gentle, and loves being part of the action.

Hope (Female) – Hope is the black-and-white beauty of the group. She is incredibly loving with a fun, spunky personality. She is always chasing toys, especially balls, and keeps everyone entertained with her playful spirit.

Harmony (Female) – Harmony is the gray-and-white adventurer. She is curious, fearless, and always looking for her next adventure. Whether she’s climbing the curtains or investigating something new, she brings endless entertainment and personality wherever she goes.

All of these kittens are incredibly loving, happy, and well-socialized. They have been raised with plenty of human interaction, enjoy being handled and cuddled, love other cats, and are well acclimated to dogs. They spend their days purring, playing, exploring, and soaking up affection.

Whether you’re looking for one playful companion or considering adopting a pair, these kittens are ready to fill your home with love, purrs, and endless joy. Momma Grace deserves a forever home too, where she can finally be the one receiving all the love and care she so selflessly gave to her babies.

We are currently fostering a very sweet little feline family —1 young mama (about 1 year old) and her 6 adorable kittens. While they’re not quite ready for adoption yet, we are actively working toward finding each of them the perfect forever home. Fostering gives animals a chance to decompress, grow, and thrive outside of the shelter setting while opening up space for others still waiting at La Porte Animal Shelter.

Right now, our focus is simple: love, care, and socialization.

What we can promise these babies:
✨ They will be healthy and well cared for
✨ They will be socialized with people and handled daily
✨ They will be used to kisses, snuggles, and all-day affection
✨ They will be comfortable around other cats and dog-friendly environments

As they grow, we’ll get to know each kitten’s unique personality so we can thoughtfully match each one with the right adoptive home when the time comes.

‼️WE NEED YOUR HELP‼️

This sweet girl, Rosie has a story we don’t take lightly and we are hoping the right person sees her in time.

She was pulled from a kill shelter in Kentucky just before her time was up and given a second chance at life through our rescue. From there, she was adopted into a family but due to circumstances beyond her control she was returned and placed with one of our dedicated volunteers. That volunteer later made the decision to adopt her and give her a stable home.

Over time it became clear that she does best in a calm low stimulation environment. She needs to be the only dog in the home as she is not comfortable sharing her space with other dogs and will defend herself if she feels threatened or instigated. However she has done well with cats and can coexist peacefully with them.

We are unsure of her exact age but she is beginning to slow down and shows gentle signs of aging most tenderly the gray beginning to grace her sweet face. Her current caregiver describes her as the perfect companion for a quiet cat friendly home. She is a super sweet easygoing couch potato who loves nothing more than snuggling up close and simply being near her person.

She does not ask for much just a soft place to land a peaceful home and someone to love her for exactly who she is in this season of her life.

We are urgently seeking either a foster or forever home where she can live out her golden years in comfort safety and stability as the only dog.

If you or someone you know might be able to open your heart and home to her please reach out. She deserves peace gentleness and a place where she will never again have to wonder where she belongs.

✨ Foster-to-Adopt Spotlight: Momo ✨

Three years ago, an 8-week-old kitten was found in Michigan City and dropped off on our porch. We named her Athena.

Six months later, she was adopted by a dear friend and became Momo. She was deeply loved until my friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2025. She asked if I would take her cats if she could no longer care for them. Of course, I said yes.

After my friend passed away, Momo returned to our care. While we were heartbroken by the loss, we were grateful to honor her wishes and keep her beloved cats safe.

Momo has always been an independent girl who never quite fit in with other cats. She reminds me so much of Sasha, another cat from our rescue who was often picked on by other cats but thrived once she found her person. Sasha was adopted by my childhood friend Craig a few years ago and has done wonderfully in her home.

Recently, Craig’s daughter Megan reached out looking for a cat of her own. After meeting several cats, she felt an immediate connection with Momo.

Today, we’re excited to announce Momo’s foster-to-adopt placement! ❤️

Sasha is still deciding how she feels about her new roommate, but we’re hopeful these two independent ladies will learn to appreciate each other in time.

Some cats take a winding road to find exactly where they’re meant to be. We have a feeling Momo may have found her place once again.
