Dream Big Wednesdays summer series week 2 was off the charts AWESOME! 🤩

Music class lead by Lenny of 3rd Street band and Scott Djscotty Forsythe was another great jam session with bells and new maracas for the Dreamers to keep to jam at home! Playing along to popular favorites like Hanuka Matata was a definite hit! 🎶🎵

After jamming out, campers enjoyed lunch delivered by Laplace Raising Cane's where two of our campers, Markell and Johnathon, are employed! 😋

We presented our camper, Deavan, with a good luck card signed by everyone from Dream Big Wednesdays as she prepares to head off with Team Louisiana to respresent Special Olympics Louisiana at the National Games! Best of luck, Team Louisiana! 🥇

A learning treat for our STEM activity was making our own ice cream lead by our friend amd amazing retired teacher from East St. John High School, Theresa Green! Campers had to shake, shake, shake and then got to enjoy their personally made ice cream along with cupcakes from Walmart La Place! 🍨

And finally, campers were gifted a home science kit to create bath bombs at home with family. This lead us to our introduction and distribution of Drew Barrymore crockpots for each Dreamer to keep along with independent living style can openers and bottle openers for assistive cooking technology! 🤩🤩🤩

We are so excited for next week’s camp as we have much more in store including making chicken fajitas in our new crockpots with our friends from LSU AgCenter! We are Cooking Up Dreams! ❤️🦋

Check out our Dreamer of the Month, Ryli! She made her own dinner and cut her sandwich in half and sliced her broccoli using her new safety knife from camp! Great job Ryli, you did awesome! 😍

We spy some of our Dreamers off to high school! ❤️🦋

Please join us in welcoming some of our new AA students who are part of the transition program, designed to help ease their move from 8th grade to high school. Today, they took a tour of the school to help them get acclimated to being at The E. The journey begins! 😊🖤💛🐾🎓
