MDRC is proud to announce the participation of the Michigan Assistive Technology Program (MATP) in the Community Connections for Assistive Technology (CCAT) Grant initiative. This grant serves older adults and people with disabilities in rural Northern Michigan and the thumb area, and provides free assistive technology for hearing, vision, mobility and more! Details about the CCAT grant can be found below.

The CCAT program is supported by the Michigan Health Endowment Fund. The Michigan Health Endowment Fund works to improve the health and wellness of Michigan residents and reduce the cost of healthcare, with a special focus on children and seniors. What is Assistive Technology (AT)? AT is any tool, software, or app that can help people with disabilities, including older adults, do what they want to do.
What is the Community Connections for Assistive Technology (CCAT) Grant? The CCAT grant serves older adults and people with disabilities in rural Northern Michigan and the thumb area. Michigan Assistive Technology Program (MATP) specialists will visit people in their home or community to demonstrate and provide free assistive devices for hearing, vision, mobility, or other daily tasks. With the right AT, individuals can stay connected, participate in community activities, and maintain independence.
What Counties does the CCAT Grant serve? The CCAT Grant serves the following counties: Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Arenac, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Clare, Crawford, Emmet, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Kalkaska, Iosco, Isabella, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, Roscommon, Sanilac, Tuscola, Wexford.
