Recently the Sanctuary was contact by an individual hoping we could assist with place his two dogs because he is sadly losing his home and needs to find a safe place for his Chows.

It breaks out hearts to not have the space / resources to be able to help especially since they are local to Lansing MI.

We let him know we would share a post regarding his dogs, so here it is. If you are open to the idea of welcoming a new family member please feel free to message and we will pass along his contact info. Both dogs are sadly intact and not up to date on vaccines but if you are in the Lansing area, Capital Area Humane Society has an awesome Spay/Neuter / and vaccine clinic.

Nala - 11 year old Chow.
Owner has had her since she was six weeks old, she can sometimes be grumbly with new people to her home. Isn't a huge fan of younger puppies. But the owner doesn't report any other behavioral or health concerns.

Loki - 3 year Chow Mix
Younger boy, has reportly done well with other dogs especially smaller dogs.

Even if we had space / resources, these kiddos sound "too good" for the Sanctuary as we focus on the last chance behavioral cases, but it really bums us out that we don't even have the ability to give them a soft place to land while things get figured out.
