When meals aren't an option you find other ways to help. This past Friday we traveled to Swananoa NC to pick up empty propane tanks with our utility trailer to return them Saturday filled. What was so striking is the amount of destruction still visible four months after hurricane Helene. I did not post pictures of what we saw out of respect of the good people of western NC who are still living it, every day. I was contacted by my good friend Lou Nespeca early last week who had this great idea to ask for donations for propane which is so sorely needed for heating as people are still living in tents. The response was over whelming! So early Friday morning we headed up to Swananoa and picked up the empty tanks. In the process we brought diesel fuel which is also needed. With the help of Lou's friend, Mike we delivered the empty tanks to Prince Gas in Landrum SC who filled them all at cost. This is a great business, which we also use for our trailer ministry. On Saturday afternoon we proceeded to take the tanks back up to the distribution center that has been set up at a music venue called Silverados. These people are very well organized and doing great work for the people of western NC. Again, I would like to thank, Lou Nespeca and his friend Mike for allowing us to help in their vision. Martha Littlefield Bennett and the Greer Soup Kitchen for supplying blankets and my wife Deborah for encouraging me to just go! God is good!
