Statement from the Board of the Rainbow Alliance of Fairfield County (RAFC)

RAFC is committed to creating safe, inclusive spaces for our community. The safety and well-being of children and families at our public events is a responsibility we take seriously.

We are aware of the recent comments made this week at the Lancaster City Council meeting. Statements made by one of our members do not reflect the beliefs, values, or position of RAFC as an organization or other board members.

We appreciate those who have reached out with concerns, and appropriate action has been taken. Effective immediately, that member has agreed to step down from their position on the Board.

We are pausing all future events and initiatives until further notice while we work to rebuild our Board so we can bring you the best events possible.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to uphold the safety and trust of our community.

Thank you, Hillary!! 🌈

After 3 wonderful years of hard work and dedication, Hillary has chosen to step away from RAFC.

While we are sad to see her go, we are forever grateful for the love she poured into RAFC. Her commitment to the RAFC Board, events, and managing the social media for 3 years helped to ensure our ongoing success.

Please join us in thanking Hillary the very best and wishing her joy and luck in her future endeavors 💜

LITE THE NITE 2026 CANCELLED

Unfortunately, we've decided it is the best decision to cancel Lite the Nite for 2026.

We share in the sadness and disappointment that this announcement may bring. We enjoy celebrating Pride at Lite the Nite with you each year.

HB 249 is threatening self expression and freedoms for all Ohioans and the Rainbow Alliance has recently experienced multiple changes in board members. Cancelling Lite the Nite this year allows us time to focus on bringing you new and varied small events in 2026, building a routine with current and future board members, and ensuring that all RAFC events are enjoyable for everyone (including us!).

Thank you for your support during Pride Month and all year long!

We will have a few more events this summer and will be announcing more in the next few months!

The Rainbow Alliance of Fairfield County is still here, fighting to foster a more welcoming community for all of us.

🌈Pride Month Recap

We celebrated June with our Pride Brunch, music bingo at Double Edge, a pizza party, Juneteenth, pottery making, and a picnic! It was a busy month, but worth every moment!

June may be over, but we carry Pride with us all year round. The fight for Pride, recognition, safety, and equality, is never ending. But we're not backing down.

Future, present, and past generations have and will continue to press for change.

RAFC is ready and willing to stand with our community year round. Continue to contact your representatives and vote, especially as we stand against Ohio HB 249.

Love will prevail.

🌈RAFC Pride at the Park 2026

We wrapped up Pride Month with our annual Pride Picnic!

It rained on us a few times and we had to quickly pivot to a different location, but we had a wonderful time sharing food and laughter with everyone!

💜We're so thankful to everyone who braved the weather and changes to join us! Hopefully next year it'll be a bit dryer so we can spend a little more time outside of the shelter 😅

Thank you to our volunteers and the Schleich family for all of their hard work, time, and effort.

We are now at Rising Park NOT Alley Park

The shelter house at the top of the hill at Rising Park, there is a sign that says Orchard Hill. Please spread the word!

Need lunch plans for tomorrow?

Join RAFC tomorrow Alley Park at the front shelter house from 12pm-2pm for food, fun, and community!

We'll have a variety of food available at this free, all ages event!
🌭🍔🍪🍇🥤

We will have T-shirts, totes, and stickers for purchase.

If you have a yard game you'd like to share with everyone, please bring it!

We are arriving early to claim the front shelter house, so there should be plenty of picnic tables, but it wouldn't hurt to bring a lawn chair just in case (if you'd like!).

Pride is all year, but let's give June one more celebration 🎉
