🌧️🪴 The rain garden installation at the Noel Dorwart Trailhead is officially complete!
Designed to help capture and naturally filter stormwater runoff, this new feature is another step forward in creating healthier waterways, stronger ecosystems, and more resilient public spaces through the Blue Green Connector.

You’ll notice temporary fencing remaining in place for a period of time as the native plants establish their roots and take full advantage of those spring and summer showers. Thank you for helping us protect and support this new landscape as it grows.

Progress is blooming at Noel Dorwart Park — and there’s still more to come. 💧🌿

Students recently joined the outdoors for a hands-on field trip experience exploring environmental restoration, local ecosystems, and the power of outdoor learning right here in Lancaster County on the Blue Green Connector.

From observing nature firsthand to learning about water quality, habitat restoration, and the importance of stewardship, students experienced how science comes to life beyond the classroom walls.

Because some of the most meaningful learning happens when students can explore, ask questions, and connect directly with the world around them. 💧🌱

🎬 Something exciting is in the works.

The Blue Green Connector is proud to be partnering with HAVERSTICK
& MERCURE Films to help tell the story of one of Lancaster County’s most transformative environmental restoration projects.

Over the coming months, filming will capture the people, partnerships, restoration work, and community vision shaping the Blue Green Connector, from stream restoration and trail development to outdoor learning and environmental stewardship.

This project is about more than a trail. It’s about legacy, connection, and reimagining what’s possible for Lancaster County’s future. 🌎💧
Stay tuned… there’s much more to come.

🥾🌱 Learning got a little muddy — and that’s exactly the point!
For the second year in a row, educators from across Lancaster County came together with the Blue Green Connector and the Lancaster County STEM Alliance for our Muddy Boots event! This event is a hands-on learning experience and opportunity to explore environmental restoration, designed to connect environmental restoration with the power of outdoor education in action.

Throughout the day, participants explored the Blue Green Connector restoration sites, learned about ecosystem identification, practiced nature journaling, and discovered how outdoor spaces can become powerful tools for STEM education. Most importantly, educators walked away with new ideas and lesson plan inspiration they can bring directly back to their students and classrooms.

Because some of the best learning happens outside — and the ripple effect continues far beyond the trail. 🌎💧

Spring = progress 🌸 ꩜
The labyrinth at the Noel Dorwart Trailhead is nearly complete (finishing today!)—and wow, it’s looking GOOD.
We’ll be giving it a little time to settle in next, so you'll see some fencing around the area so our Blue Grama Grass can grow strong and healthy 🌾
Trust us… it’s going to be worth the wait.

The Blue Green Connector travels through a mosaic of landscapes, each one playing a role in water quality, habitat, and community connection. Together, they form a living system.
Different ecosystems. One connected corridor. 💚

Pollinators are the quiet heroes behind healthy landscapes. 🐝🦋 Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators do more than visit flowers, they help plants reproduce, support food webs, and keep ecosystems resilient. In restoration work like the Blue Green Connector, native plants are carefully selected not just for beauty, but because they provide the nectar, pollen, and habitat pollinators depend on.

Healthy pollinator populations mean stronger plant communities, better soil stability, improved water filtration, and richer biodiversity along our waterways. When we protect pollinators, we’re helping restoration efforts take root and thrive.

🌍🐸 Happy Earth Day from Blue Green Connector!
Today we celebrate the connection between healthy waterways, thriving habitats, and strong communities. Every action counts—whether it’s reducing waste, protecting local ecosystems, conserving water, or supporting sustainability efforts close to home.
At Blue Green Connector, we believe environmental stewardship starts with connection: people to nature, communities to resources, and ideas to action. Together, we can help create a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.
💙💚 This Earth Day, join us in making an impact.
