Mission Statement

The Moller Organ is located in the sanctuary at Lancaster United Methodist Church, 918 W Avenue J, Lancaster, California and is the largest pipe organ in the Antelope Valley. The organ was imported from the Church of the Latter Day Saints' Temple in Salt Lake City in 1965 and has been in constant use ever since. It is both a church and community instrument, used for church services, choral presentations, solo artists' performances, and organ training. The Friends of the Moller Organ (FOTMO) is a group of dedicated people hoping to raise enough funds to complete the original design installation which includes more pipes as well as maintenance needed to keep the organ in good working order. Our goals are: 1) To raise $150,000. 2) Add five ranks (sound tubes) to enhance mid-range. 3) Replace all mechanical linkages between the console keys and the diaphragm air boxes with electronics. 4) Equalize the ambient air temperature differences between the console area and the back pipe ranks. 5) Install video cameras and screen system to allow performers to be seen by viewers in the congregational seating area. 6) Develop a joint use and performance agreement with the Antelope Valley College Music Department, to allow our organ use for training and student recitals. 7) Allow private tutors to train students locally, instead of students being transported out of the Antelope Valley. 8) Schedule organist's performances to play the music of Bach, Mozart, Vierne, and thousands of other composers. 9) Establish an ongoing maintenance repair fund exclusively for our organ use.
