Here’s what’s to love about this unique park location:
🛹🪁Plenty of Play Equipment: This spot has more equipment than your average neighborhood park. Let the kids enjoy all the sections of the playground, with a life-like barn setup for them to explore. They’ll travel through slides, swings, and several climbing structures designed with age in mind. Plus, don’t miss the Little Library hidden in the main play structure! At this park, there is truly something for everyone.
🏐🏀Practice Zones & Paths: There is no shortage of practice zones in the span of field space. There is territory to practice gaga ball, volleyball, tennis, basketball, baseball – you name it! And with the walking paths that swivel through the fields, there are infinite options to choose family and friend activities that get your body moving.
🌻🌤️Party Areas: Need a space to host a birthday party or graduation celebration? Amos Herr Park has all the space you will need. There are several pavilions to choose from, with the largest pavilion being right near an indoor bathroom spot. Besides the pavilions, there are benches galore throughout the park, and you can take advantage of the field space with picnics, games, and other group activities.

🎁Give What You Can: Through the Book Spot’s donation system, you can give what you’re able and take home what you love. There are signs throughout the Book Spot with suggested donation amounts for each item, and the pay-what-you-can policy makes it easy for everyone to enjoy the benefits while supporting the Library’s programs. Each donation, no matter the size, helps to keep the space thriving.
💿📚Daily Additions: There is always something new to discover! Fresh music, movies, and book titles are added to the collection every day, so that you are guaranteed to find a new gem each time you visit. If you want to contribute to the inventory, bring your own items to the donation station inside the Tell Café!
🪑Cozy Seating: Once you’ve found your pick, settle in and stay awhile in the comfortable seating, offering a more private spot than the Library’s main seating areas. If you need a secure spot for a relaxing group outing, a meeting space, or just a cozy spot to flip through your newest read, this is the spot for you. Don’t forget to grab your favorite comfort drink from the vending machine!

First Friday Feature - Cartel Brewing & Blending

Cartel Brewing was built out of passion, patience – and a whole lot of malt. As they
celebrate five years, it’s perfect timing to highlight their craft: delicious brews, friendly staff, and an all-day menu.

For first-time visitors, the brewery has a broad lineup. Popular staples include The Pines West Coast IPA, Scholl Lane Pils – a lite pilsner named after the nearby School Lane Hills neighborhood – and a rotating selection of Hazy IPAS. Ask any of their followers, and you’ll quickly learn their Barleywines, Imperial Stouts, and Strong ales are just as popular.

While you’re there, you may run into Cartel’s owner and founder, Adam, who began
homebrewing in 2008. In 2026 he offers several award-winning brews. Adam is fond of hosting neighborhood gatherings and is often involved in charitable brewing initiatives.

Bundle up and make a night of it! Penn Medicine Park’s 8th annual Christmas Spirit Light Show is lighting up the Christmas season with drive-through displays, cozy drinks, holiday shopping, and rows of Christmas trees to explore!

Here’s what sets this holiday experience apart from the rest:
🚙The Drive-Through Display: Pack the family into the car to enjoy a mile-long track of extravagant lights! This intricate display is built up of thousands of color-changing lights, accompanied by classic Christmas tunes synced on your radio. The experience is truly one-of-a kind, and once you’ve driven through, you can park and enter the stadium for more festivities.

🎄Stadium & Christmas Tree Lane: After you’ve driven through the light show, walk through the stadium to browse over 100 decorated trees created by local non-profit organizations! You can even vote on your favorite design for $2 per tree, knowing that all of the voting proceeds go back to the organization. In addition to the tree viewings, you can also enjoy events at the stadium such as “Live Reindeer”, Scavenger Hunts, and so much more.

Tried and tested, we’re here to confidently say you’ll get a beautiful fresh Christmas Tree – mostly because you cut it down yourself! Bring the family, breathe in that crisp holiday air, and choose from over six different varieties.

The staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, and they make this holiday tradition easy to enjoy.

Hand-cut, fresh wreaths are available for sale as well.

🛼Easy Skate Rentals - No worries if you don’t have your own gear – most visitors don’t! The skate rental pop-up is ready to serve your needs and provide the right-sized skates so that you can get rolling in minutes.

🍕Snacks + Socializing - You may tire yourself out while having a blast; no need to leave the rink early. Stop by the concession stand in the building for some classic rink treats! This is a great space to host parties and events, or to just sit and chat for as long as you need. Recharge, and then hop back into the rink when you’re ready!

The colder months make it challenging to stay social and active. The team at the Overlook Roller Rink wants to encourage you that these kinds of “third spaces” outside of work and home are the perfect opportunity to stay connected and have fun, even when the gloomy outdoors are disheartening.
