πŸ’š CHASE LIFE FRIDAY πŸ’š

Tomorrow is Race Day.

Tomorrow, hundreds of people will gather to run, walk, remember, heal, support, celebrate, and connect.

Some will be there for the first time.

Some have been with us since the beginning.

And some will arrive carrying something they may never say out loud.

That's what makes this day so special.

It isn't just about a race.

It's about people showing up for one another.

Online registration is now closed, but don't worry...

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Day-of registration opens at 6:45 AM
πŸ“ Ohio University Lancaster
⏰ Race begins at 8:00 AM

Whether you're running for someone you love, running for yourself, or simply showing up to support mental wellness in our community, we can't wait to see you.

Tomorrow, we'll celebrate life.
Tomorrow, we'll celebrate hope.
Tomorrow, we'll celebrate The Chase Haley.

A son.
A friend.
A teammate.
A helper.

And a young man who made people feel seen.

We'll see you at the starting line.

"WHY IS LIFE SO HARD?"
ASTONISHING ANSWER BY OLD MONK...

An old monk was once asked:
"Master, why is life so difficult?

No matter how hard I try, there is always another problem, another worry, another challenge waiting for me."

The monk smiled and handed the man a glass of water.

"Hold this," he said.

The man held it.

A minute passed.

Then five.

Then ten.

Soon his arm began to ache.

The glass wasn't heavy.

But holding it for too long became painful.

The monk asked:

"Why does it hurt?"

"Because I've been holding it for so long," the man replied.

The monk nodded.

"Life works the same way."

"Many people are not suffering because of what happened."

"They are suffering because they refuse to put it down."

The man looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

The monk continued:

"You carry yesterday's mistakes.

Old regrets.

Old arguments.

Old heartbreaks.

Old fears.

And then you wonder why life feels so heavy."

The man sat quietly.

The monk picked up the glass and placed it on the ground.

"Notice something."

"The moment I put it down, the weight disappeared."

"The problem wasn't the glass."

"The problem was holding it endlessly."

The man's eyes widened.

"So life isn't hard because of what happens?"

The monk smiled.

"Life has always contained pain."

"People get sick."

"People leave."

"Plans fail."

"Things change."

"That is part of being human."

"But much of our suffering comes from carrying things long after they have happened."

The man lowered his head.

"Then what should I do?"

The monk replied:

"Learn what the experience came to teach you."

"And then put it down."

THE OLD MONK'S 5 LESSONS FOR A HARD LIFE:

1. Stop carrying what you cannot change.
The past can teach you, but it cannot be relived.

2. Focus on one day at a time.
Most people are crushed by years they haven't even lived yet.

3. Accept that challenges are part of life.
A life without difficulty does not exist.

4. Let go of what no longer serves you.
Some burdens stay heavy only because you refuse to release them.

5. Trust your ability to handle what comes next.
You have survived difficult days before. You are stronger than you think.

The old monk's final words were:

"Life is not becoming heavier.

You are becoming tired from carrying too much."

"Put down what no longer belongs to you."

"And you may discover that life was lighter than you thought."
