What a ride! 🚴‍♂️American Cancer Society Bicycles Battling Cancer 2025 was an incredible day of riding for good!

From the perfect weather to the electric energy, this community came together with one powerful goal: to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.

Thanks to every rider, volunteer, supporter & sponsor, we turned miles into meaningful impact — raising critical funds and hope 💙

The countdown is officially ON — just 5 days until we roll into Bicycles Battling Cancer '25 at YMCA Camp Lowe! The fall air is crisp, the energy is building, and we’re gearing up for a ride that’s going to move hearts and legs alike.

Our Ducks For Cancer team!!

Team DetermiNation, we are sharing another amazing teammate spotlight! Meet your fellow teammate, Michael Foley. Michael is a survivor and the team captain for his Bicycles Battling Cancer team, Ducks for Cancer! Fun fact: Michael has a wrist tattoo that reads "IWBC" which stands for "I will beat cancer"!

"In 2010 my father died from cancer. In 2015 I lost my sister Kathy to lung cancer, and in 2017 I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. By the time I was diagnosed the cancer had spread to my brain, kidney and hip. Treatment has included 2 brain surgeries, 70 plus sessions of radiation, 2 clinical trials, chemotherapy and now immune therapy.

My family has been through a lot, but sometimes I say this is the best thing that ever happened to me. I wouldn’t have made it this far without the support of my family and friends.

For Christmas in 2020 I decided to make replicas of the ducks my father had made as gifts for my kids, relatives and friends. I received a lot of additional requests for these ducks from people who saw them so, I decided to “pay it forward” for all the love, prayers and support I have received during this battle by making them and donating over half the proceeds going to the Chemo Bag Project and Lucy’s Love Bus!"

Getting the best care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home. American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® communities help people facing cancer access vital treatment when they need it most. Currently the Hope Lodge program offers 1,100 rooms at 31 Hope Lodge locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Hope Lodge communities provide a free place to stay during treatment so people with cancer can focus on getting better.
