The RSCA is excited to announce the work of Melissa Carroll!

Melissa Carroll is a Pennsylvania-based landscape painter whose work explores the interaction of light and the natural environment. A native of Lancaster County, she began oil painting in childhood after receiving early instruction from a professional artist.

Melissa earned a Fine Arts degree from York Academy of Arts (now the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design). Alongside her studio practice, she worked as a graphic designer for more than 35 years before transitioning to a full-time career as a fine artist.

A few of Melissa’s influences include: Andrew Wyeth, Eric Sloane, and the Hudson River School. Her work has received numerous awards and recognition. She is a member of Marietta Art Alive, the organization behind the annual River Town Plein Air Festival in Lancaster, and is a co-producer of Susquehanna Art Workshops.

🎠 Memory Monday

One of the many features on the Rocky Springs Carousel is the band organ, which dates to 1900 and was designed by Gavioli, one of the most famous Italian builders of organs at the time. The band organ is of furniture style, with side wings, and includes a snare drum, bass drum, and cymbal.

The Rocky Springs Carousel Association (RSCA) will hold its next Board meeting on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 6:30pm. The meeting will take place at the RSCA Gallery, 118 N Water St Suite #105, Lancaster, PA 17603.

If planning to attend in person, please bring a chair.

The meeting will also be accessible via Google Meet. Please email [email protected] for Google Meet access information.

The RSCA Board of Directors meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. We will continue to meet at the RSCA Gallery located at 118 N. Water Street, Suite 150.
