Leadership is a service, a commitment to education, advocacy, nurturing, and community building. It is seen and encouraged, cultivated in us as we grow. Today we honor our president and all of those who grew her into the the incredible community member we cherish. We are grateful to our friends and colleagues at Franklin & Marshall College for recognizing MaryAnn Robins with an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters for her career in service to the community. Congratulations, MaryAnn. We are so very proud.

We had a great day at Indian Steps Museum yesterday amongst the raindrops and lovely folks that gathered to celebrate the museum's opening day! Our president, MaryAnn Robins and vice president, Joann McLaughlin made an incredible array of traditional foods to sample- aided by some wonderful cornbread baked by one of our regular volunteers, Zephyr!

Former board member and dear friend to CLC, Hannah Keller, as well as two other volunteers Trella Dubetz and Ash also helped out for the day - serving up the delicious Three Sisters Soup, Jerusalem Artichoke and venison casserole, as well as wild rice, pumpkin mash, fruit and nuts, and some delicious sassafras, dandelion, and strawberry teas!

It was a wonderful day to be in community and celebrate the beautiful work that Indian Steps provides our region! Thanks to everyone who came out- we'll see you again soon!

Circle Legacy Center represented our community at Arts Advocacy Day in PA to voice our concerns over the elimination of Folk and Traditional Arts funding, Preserving Diverse Cultures funding, Arts in Education partnerships and funding for small cultural agencies like ours under the new PCI initiatives. Follow Creative PA to learn how you can support a path forward that supports the arts for all of us.

Still revealing in the strong voices heard at yesterday’s Arts Advocacy Day in the PA Capitol.

Across every sign, speech, and shared moment, the message was clear: access to arts and culture isn’t optional! It’s foundational to a more inspired, connected Pennsylvania.

And the work isn’t done ——> it’s just getting started!

Congratulations to our friends and community members from the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina on achieving your goal of full federal recognition. We celebrate your momentous victory. 🦅

The tribe's legitimacy and unwillingness to go through the normal process to get recognition have been questioned by other tribal nations.
