Meet Our Speaker

Mack Baskin

First of all, thank you for giving me this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mack Baskin. I grew up in Lancaster, SC. I had a dual-parent household structure. At an early age, I was interested in wiring car speakers and stereos. I joined the U.S. Army in 1978 and served until 1988. While serving in Germany, I had the honor and privilege of helping bring home the 249 fallen heroes who were killed in the 1983 Beirut bombing. I have a 20-year career in supply chain or warehousing. I moved to Washington, DC, in 2014, where I lived in a Recovery Center for 9 months. Clean and sober, I was able to attend a culinary school, and I worked at Hard Rock Cafe and George Mason University as a grill cook. I worked as a mail courier at the U.S. Capitol for members of Congress and senators. I then transferred to the Supreme Court as a biohazard mail screener for the Supreme Court judges. I am currently employed at Expeditors as a forklift operator. - Mack
