Hey Neighbors! 🎈SAVE THE DATE!
It’s that time again! Summer is almost over, and what better way to end the season than an End of Summer Sale supporting your favorite local businesses located on Madison Avenue (from buntstobirdtown ). We just LOVE our community, and there are so many gems that are all within walking distance!
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, from NOON-5 PM, join participating businesses from Bunts to Birdtown for an afternoon of sales, promotions, and MULTIPLE RAFFLES featuring all of the businesses listed below!
You will receive a punch card at your first stop, and for every $20 (plus pit stops for refreshments or treats) spent at participating businesses, you will receive a raffle ticket. (Each participating business will have a 🎈balloon outside of their place of business!)
Just a reminder, meter parking is FREE on Saturdays, so grab a spot and enjoy a day of strolling up and down the block! Local to Lakewood? Just walk or bike on over!

The City of Lakewood has added new signage to Madison Park regarding electric bikes, electric scooters, and other similar devices. Go to the City’s website to learn more. The posted rules inform parkgoers of the following information:

- Electric Bikes and Electric Scooters are not permitted to ride with the motor engaged anywhere within parks in the City of Lakewood.
- Electric Dirt Bikes/E-Motos are not permitted within parks in the City of Lakewood. These vehicles must be parked in a designated parking area.
- Reckless operation of any kind is prohibited. All riders of bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, e-scooters, skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, and other similar devices must follow the rules outlined in LCO §373.08.

Need a slow Sunday? Stop by Madison Park Chalk Fest THIS Sunday, August 9 from 2 to 3:30 pm in the center of our park in partnership with the City of Lakewood.

This free event has a singular goal: Celebrate our park and the spirit of community by filling the entire pavement area surrounding our Little Free Locker Room with chalk art.

Speaking of the Locker Room, this structure will be stocked full of free-to-use chalk for the occasion. Simply bring yourself and your artistic nature to participate.

Complimentary light refreshments will be provided, and we’ll have music playing to set the atmosphere.

Last year’s inaugural Madison Park Chalk Fest was so much fun -- a great mix of local talent and community spirit right here in Ward 4. 🎨✨

While I’m no longer in a FOMP leadership role due to my Council duties (and I bring close to zero artistic ability to the table anyway), I can’t wait to get covered in chalk dust this weekend.
