The KARA Resource Navigator is live for public testing!
Try it out our new tool for yourself (bottom right corner on this page): https://invisiblechildren.org/current-initiatives/
We have been building toward this for 30 years from Kids At Risk Action/Invisible Children's side, 4 years from Seeds of Success’s side, with over 200,000 collective volunteer hours in the past year alone. 120+ volunteers across 29 states. 14 university-professor partnerships. Today, the first of many tools goes public!
It makes 30 years of child welfare research - foster care resources, crisis support, policy analysis, education toolkits, survivor stories - findable in about 30 seconds.
Five questions. Personalized results. No AI. Instant access to the nation's LARGEST website for information, resources, and research surrounding foster care, child welfare, and homeless/at-risk youth.
A foster parent gets different results than a journalist. A researcher sees different content than a social worker. Anyone in crisis finds help immediately.
This is a public test. We hope we can get as many people as possible to try it, use it, and tell us what is missing.
These 3 things will support us in making this tool even better:
1. Try it out our new tool for yourself (bottom right corner on this page): https://invisiblechildren.org/current-initiatives/
2. Take our 5-minute user study so we can improve it: https://forms.gle/ECAoFWAWFxqdNmyDA
3. Help us bridge to major grant funding this Summer - we are raising $2,000-$3,000 to cover the next 2-3 months: https://donate.stripe.com/eVqbJ174jd5PdMoaQqak000
Our whole organization and all of our technology development costs about $20/day to operate. Zero outside funding. Everything we build is open source and owned by the organizations it serves.
My team and I have been building to this moment for ~4 years. We have so much more in store, I cannot wait to release and share more technologies and tools over the coming months!
Please share this post. It costs nothing and it helps so more than you think.
