🏁 THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR INAUGURAL Sandy Beach Hydro Regatta!🏁

What a weekend! When we first set out to plan this event and begin fundraising, we honestly weren’t sure what to expect. We had a vision for bringing hydroplane racing back to Indian Lake, but we could only hope our community would believe in it as much as we did.

The turnout, support, and excitement exceeded anything we could have imagined. Seeing Indian Lake come alive with hydroplane racing again was something we won’t soon forget. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, supported, and cheered us on!

A very special THANK YOU to the racers, crews, and families who traveled from near and far to be part of this event; Mark and Lori Weber, the American Power Boat Association and A.P.B.A. Region 6 crew for their expertise and hard work; our local EMS & fire departments, ODNR, Washington Township Police Department, and Logan County sheriff’s office for helping keep everyone safe; our incredible volunteers who gave their time and energy to make this event possible; our wonderful sponsors who believed in our vision, and Lake Life Studios LLC for capturing and covering this special event.

Each of you played an important role in making our inaugural regatta possible, and we are incredibly grateful. You brought the heart and excitement of hydroplane racing to Indian Lake, and our community is already looking forward to welcoming everyone back in 2027! 🚤🏁

The recent rain meant we had to make some adjustments along the way, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility, and understanding. We learned a lot from our first year and are already making plans to make 2027 bigger, better, and even more connected, including improved communication along the shoreline and out on the water.

We’re so proud of what we built together, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for an even bigger and better 2027! 🚤🏁

🏁 A HUGE THANK YOU TO PSC Crane & Rigging! 🏁

A successful hydroplane regatta takes an incredible team behind the scenes, and crane operators are one of the most important parts of keeping everything running safely and efficiently.

We are incredibly grateful to Piqua Steel Company and their crane operators for expertly handling all of these boats with such ease throughout the weekend. Their skill, precision, and professionalism helped keep the boats moving and the racing on schedule.

So much of what makes race weekend run smoothly happens behind the scenes, and we’re thankful for the people who make it happen. 🚤🏁
