If we were to do some fundraisers here in Lake County, what would be some great ideas you might have?

I was thinking maybe a golf tourney? Might need some support in the logistics of that.
&
Indian Taco/Bake Sale.

Open to any and all ideas. šŸ˜Ž

It’s Saturday, Christmas has passed, and guess what? You made it! āœØšŸŽ„

From our Toys for Tots family to yours — thank you for all the love, generosity, and hope you shared this season. Whether you donated a toy, volunteered your time, or simply spread kindness, you helped light up the lives of children in need.ā¤ļø

Now take a moment to breathe. Reflect on the joy you helped create and the smiles you brought to so many little faces.

Here’s to the rest of the weekend and the year ahead — and to continuing to make a difference together!šŸŽ„

End your year off with a beautiful sentiment, a good deed , every dollar donated comes back to the children.
Thank you in advance for supporting such an amazing Foundation.

Christmas may be over, but the hope you planted and the joy you nurtured can still be felt across the country.

Dolls are being loved. Bikes are being ridden. Books are being read. Toys are being treasured. And most importantly—children and their families feel the love that came from caring friends like you.

Let’s keep that spirit going.

When you make a special gift before December 31st, it’s not only tax-deductible, but it also helps Toys for Tots kick off 2026 with heart and hope—ready to bring optimism, comfort, and joy to children all year long.

You can feel confident knowing that 98Ā¢ of every dollar you donate supports Toys for Tots’ programs that create meaningful and lasting differences:

⭐ Literacy Program–Helps children turn the page on poverty through the power of reading.
⭐ Native American Program–Brings hope to Native American children living on remote reservations.
⭐ Foster Care Program–Reassures children facing the challenges of the Foster Care System that they are worthy of love and are not forgotten during uncertain times.

⭐ Disaster Response and Recovery Program–Provides comfort and emotional relief to children whose families have lost so much in the wake of natural disasters.

And when Christmas comes around again next year, you’ll help deliver that same magic and joy to even more children in need!

Your gift today can spark hope well into the new year. Click here: https://secure.toysfortots.org/a/2025-12-yearend

Thank you for saving Christmas for so many children and for continuing to be a year-round force for good.

Lake County’s distribution is COMPLETE!

I want to say thank you to all my volunteers for all the hours and days they spent away from their families!
This would have never been possible without our co-coordinator, Tracy, and all our volunteers, Rhonda, Carrie, Ileta, Lyssa, Hannah, Dom, Holly, Tiana, Ariel, Zoey, Crystal, David, Francy, Selena, and I know there a couple others, that I’m drawing a blank on their names. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø Without all of these volunteers, this would not have been possible.

Huge shout out to City of Lakeport, for donating the use of their city chambers for now two years in a row for our distribution! We are so very thankful!

I know and understand that there were a few situations this weekend that became negative. I want to remind EVERYONE, that there is soooo much that pours into this weekend event it’s not just putting tables up and filling them with toys and watching participants pick out toys for their children. It’s goes way beyond that. EVERY YEAR there is going to be some issue, it’s just how it is. We’re all human… nothing is going to change about that but we can make the big issues, smaller every year. This was the first year, where violence was threatened and that will NEVER be the answer nor will it be tolerated. I have been working with toys for tots for about 20+/- years, assisting as a coordinator in Mendocino County for about 10+/- years and took over Lake County last year (due to there not being a coordinator, which would have resulted in there not being a distribution)… it takes a lot of time, energy, dedication, and time away from work and my children, especially when two of my children have birthdays through the distributions and Christmas and through all of those commitments as a parent, we still show up to serve you!

Regardless of the situations including being threatened, I went to sleep last night struggling with the determination of continuing to run the campaign next year again, and critically remembering all the intense things that happened at this years distribution. Woke up this morning and like I do every year, I turned the leaf and told myself I can’t change a persons behaviors, but I can remind them that regardless of what they’re going through and the disrespect that is shown, myself and my volunteers will continue to show up for their children… there may be some additional measures taken next year, and would love your input.

This post is not meant to be negative and if there are negative comments I will delete the comments.

I am considering for next year that individuals will be met at the main door of the building, verify their verification, and then a volunteer will proceed into the hall to pick out gifts… additionally next year, NOBODY will be allowed or authorized to stand in line until the morning of the distribution.

I am eager to hear all of your thoughts and ideas, and welcome feedback, not complaints, as this post is not for that.

PSA!!!!!!!

I’m getting a lot of contacts from people expecting myself and my volunteers to pre-package their items because they do not wait to wait in line. I want to be very clear. I will not be pre-packaging items until Sunday morning. A lot of people get upset because they miss out on all the good toys and such and I wanna remind everyone that this is a first come first serve basis. I try to even out the toys that are brought in as donations over the two days evenly. However, I want to be clear that those that are asking to have their gifts prepackaged may not end up with ā€œthe super nice toysā€œ, because it may just not be available. I want to remind everyone that this is all volunteer base and is provided to you by donations and the foundation. I received several negative comments last year due to families or parents feeling like they were not getting the higher end of the toys. I understand that some people have babies or inability to get childcare, and we are trying to be accommodating with that due to the rule that children are not allowed to be present. I just wanna be very clear, that we are going to try to be as completely fair as possible but please do not have your expectations super high regarding which toys you may get. Most certainly under no circumstances while I tolerate anyone being negative or disrespectful to any of my volunteers. Should you have an issue with anything? Please request to speak with the coordinator, Jason!

As I mentioned in a previous post, we are excited to work with you all of this holiday season and look forward to seeing you all this coming weekend.

Reminder the handout is on 12/13 and 12/14.
And no prepackaged toys for families will be distributed until Sunday, as Saturdays are just way too chaotic….

12/06/2025

The count down is here! ONE week until distribution day! šŸ’ž We are soooo excited to see you all.

A couple reminders,
Handout is Saturday and Sunday 12/13-12/14 from 9am-4pm.

No children are allowed at the distribution! No exceptions.

Only one parent will be allowed to pick up gifts. I will not allow multiple people to come in with you as space is extremely limited.

Remain respectful the entire duration for the volunteers, coordinators, and the building! We are very thankful to Lakeport City Hall and expect all of our participants to remain respectful to their building!

If there is any disrespect or poor behaviors. You will be asked to leave. That includes being rude or disrespful towards other participants. There will be absolutely no tolerance for line jumping. If you were not in line prior to the people that were already there you will be asked to go to the end of the line or leave. You are absolutely not allowed to save a spot in line for your husband, wife, friend, etc….

See you all next weekend! 🩵
