From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind

As Lions, our true impact isn't measured by status or accolades, but by the hands we lift up when times get tough. The quote by Bill Bennot in this graphic reminds us that true service means showing up for those who need it most. Being a Lion means choosing to walk alongside our neighbors through their hardest moments—whether that's supporting families facing hardship, providing essential vision care, or stepping up for local community needs. We believe that true strength lies in service, empathy, and action. If you're looking for a way to make a meaningful difference right where it matters most, we'd love to have you walk with us. 🦁💙

The Lakeland Lions Club meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm. We meet at Bryan Realty in Lakeland Town Square (just 3 doors down from Owner’s Box Bar & Grill). You are invited to come & check us out.

Members of the Lakeland Lions Club attending Lakeland‘s Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon collecting used glasses for the needy. The club reserved what is called “The Spotlight Table“ at the event so they could be very visible to not only collect used eyeglasses but to also try and attract new members. Pictured from left to right are Past District Governor Lisa Vinson, club Secretary Tim Hatcher, Connie McCarter, Ande Payne and Nicole O’Driscoll.

The Lakeland Lions Club is deeply committed to community service, unity, and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Each year, Memorial Day brings the community together to pay tribute to fallen military heroes, fostering a spirit of remembrance and gratitude. Through local events, patriotic displays, and charitable initiatives, the Lakeland Lions Club ensures that the true meaning of the holiday—honoring the brave men and women who defended our freedoms—remains at the heart of the Lakeland, Tennessee community.

Lakeland Lions Club collects used eyeglasses so they can be cleaned, sorted, and distributed to people in need who may not otherwise have access to proper vision care. We do this in conjunction with the Southern School of Optometry right here in Memphis. Recycled glasses can help children succeed in school, adults remain independent at work and home, and older adults maintain a better quality of life. Through this service, Lions help reduce barriers caused by poor vision and support their long-standing mission of improving sight in communities around the world. Below is a listing of local donation sites. More locations to follow. Thank you.

Joining your local Lakeland Lions Club is your chance to step outside the ordinary and make a real impact. When you dare to be different, you choose action over indifference—discovering new ways to grow as a leader, meet lifelong friends, and serve your community. Break away from the status quo and see how rewarding it is to serve a cause greater than yourself!
We meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month at Bryan Realty Group (in The Lake District, just 3 doors down from The Owners Box Sports Bar & Grill) at 6:00 pm. We would love to meet you.
