October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but for those of us living with metastatic breast cancer, awareness is every day.

Metastatic breast cancer is breast cancer that begins in the breast and spreads to other vital organs in the body.

On New Year's Eve 2024, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. On January 6, 2026, I underwent a double mastectomy with no reconstruction. Later, my cancer spread to my liver, and my diagnosis changed to Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC).

The official colors for Metastatic Breast Cancer are teal, green, and pink:
💙 Teal represents healing and metastatic breast cancer awareness.
💚 Green symbolizes hope, renewal, and life.
🩷 Pink honors the breast cancer community and reminds us where the disease begins.

My journey is a reminder that breast cancer doesn't always end when treatment does. That's why self-care is more than spa days and rest it also means taking care of your health.

Please don't wait. Schedule your mammogram. Keep your routine health screenings. Know your body.

Early detection saves lives. If sharing my story encourages even one person to get screened sooner, then my journey will have made a difference.
