It’s almost that time of year again … Luke 12:48 … Blake-Davis Medical Academy Mentorship Program is headed to Chapel Hill North Carolina this summer

-💊🧪⚖️ Help us CONGRATULATE our scholars who are participating in a 1-week summer medical camp at University of North Carolina (UNC-Chapel Hill)

-Scholars will learn about various pathways to a career in healthcare

-Careers focused on include Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Cardiology, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Anesthesiology, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Psychiatry, and Biomedical Research and Synthetic Biology

-Scholars will participate in hands-on clinical skills taught by medical students, physicians, and medical faculty … they will also learn how to prepare for a future in the healthcare field 📓🥼

Another BLESSED Saturday 😀

Yesterday, Blake-Davis Medical Academy Mentorship Program held it’s Pharmacy Enrichment Session ⚖️💊🧪

We are grateful for our guest Pharmacist, Dr. Mohamed Dembele of Quick-N-Save. I absolutely can’t THANK him enough for sharing his inspiring journey and offering encouraging words. Through his willingness and eagerness to help, the students were able to learn about “a day the life” of an independent Pharmacist.

The students learned about the pharmacology behind medications. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities they learned how the digestive tract breaks medicine down. The students gained valuable insight in the act of “counting pills” in the Pharmacy. We also shared with them information about the different specialties in Pharmacy and the many avenues a career in Pharmacy can offer. Yesterday, the students stepped into the role of a “Compounding Pharmacist” … activities included making pharmaceutical products. Ended the day with a patient case that helped them further understand how a Compounding Pharmacist is vital to patients who may sometimes need a different or special formulation of a medication.

The enthusiasm, questions, interest, attentiveness, eagerness to learn the students show continues to warm my heart and motivate me to keep going😀

Huge, Huge, Huge THANK YOU to my TEAM that keeps going with me; my sister Marcia Owens and my brother-in-love Trevor Owens Sr. They are STILL saying “YES” and have never said I dont have time … They keep sharing their Saturdays with me and the participants ❤️❤️

I honestly can’t find the words to express what yesterday and each event means to me … So all I will say is … THANK YOU LORD for trusting me yet AGAIN to pour into the kids … Trusting me to pay it forward
