Top 11 Destinations Within a 20-minute-ish Drive of FishHawk
The 20-minutes does not apply during school rush hour 😁. Destinations that are close for all are labeled "really close."
For those who live in FH West, 👉 some of the destinations on the list are more like 30-minutes.
🏞 Alafia River State Park
A top Florida mountain biking destination. Also great for hiking, kayaking, and camping. Alafia has a bike shop that rents bikes.

🏞 Fishhawk Creek Nature Preserve North
A scenic and well-managed trail system right in our backyard. You can access this trail system from Lithia Springs, Starling, and off of Fishhawk Blvd.

🔫 Heroes Paradise
An outdoor and indoor adventure center with laser tag, archery tag, remote control car tracks, food, and coffee. 👉 Great place to develop teamwork skills. You'll be amazed that such a high-quality facility like Heroes Paradise is located so close to FishHawk.

🔫 Fishhawk Sporting Clays
If you have not shot clay pigeons with a shotgun, it is a lot more fun than you might imagine. 👉 They offer instruction on how to handle, shoot and reload a shotgun, which does not take long to learn. There is also a pistol range.

🐎 R & R Ranch
A long-time running horseback riding destination.
They "offer pony parties, pony rides, petting zoo, Riding lessons, field trips, Playgroups and horse camps. walk-ins welcome Saturday and Sunday 10:00am-5:00pm just come on by!"

🚣♂️ Alafia River Canoe Rentals
An inexpensive mom-and-pop canoe rental place right in our backyard. They pick you up and bring you back to your vehicle at their canoe launch location. They don't have a lot of kayaks, 👉 if you have your own you can use their pickup service to bring you back to your vehicle.

🌴Park Square, located in FishhawkRanch
Fishhawk's Town Center. Splash pad. Astroturf area.
Three restaurants. An ice cream/ art place. Lots of parking. Cross Park: an open play area is across the street.
🏞 Medard Park
A boardwalk where you will almost always see gators and lots of birds. The fishing from the boardwalk is good. There is a treed area that is a natural playground, which seems magical. A great place for large gatherings. They have Kayak rentals.

🍅 Crossroads Produce
Long-time running produce stand with a great selection of both produce and plants. High-quality produce and customer service. On the small side, but worth the trip.
