Caring Womens Connection

The Caring Women’s Connection (CWC) is a 501[C]3 not-for-profit organization serving women and children in need in Lake County, IL. Browse our website.

Our organization began in 1958 as a way to meet other women in Hawthorn Woods. Since that time, we have expanded our organization to communities outside of Hawthorn Woods and are continually striving to help worthwhile organizations. We welcome all over the age of 21, interested in community, charity, and camaraderie. There are many benefits to becoming an active volunteer and/or a corporate supporter. You will enjoy fun-filled meetings with raffles and appetizers, and receive our quarterly publication and CWC Connections online newsletter. We encourage businesses to join online with a credit card and become a member today! Caring Women’s Connection gives from the heart through our “Love Fund” by actively supporting outstanding local organizations: A Safe Place, Lake County Haven, Staben House, and other community programs. The proceeds collected through the year goes into the Fund, and we are able to then assist the shelters and other community programs with their initiatives. The positive impact we can have on the lives of these women and children is amazing! Never underestimate the power of even a small kindness. We host fun activities along with social interaction with our members. We are involved in community programs that help prepare and serve food. Our Holiday Helpers Program helps make the holidays a brighter time for the shelters. An online communication called CWC Connections is emailed once a month to members, volunteers, donors, and anyone else interested in receiving them. Get on our mailing list signing up at caringwomensconnection.com (1-2 emails per month). Our Connections printed newsletter is mailed to area residents and members once a month. This publication reaches over 4000 residents. These publications are used to inform people about our events/meetings and increase awareness of news regarding the CWC and community in Lake County. (advertisers wanted!!)

The Caring Women’s Connection holds Board meetings once a month and we encourage people to attend. These Board meetings are used to plan our social meetings and fundraising events for the year and handle other business matters. The CWC solicits Grant Requests from qualified organizations once a year. Applications may be obtained online at www.caringwomensconnection.com and must be mailed to the Caring Women’s Connection, PO Box 234, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. All Applications must be postmarked no later than April 1. The Board has a formal meeting to review the applications and award the allocations before June 30 of each year. The decisions are based on the fit of our mission along with the charity’s need. Please refer to our Events for a list of our upcoming events/meetings. There is something for everyone! We welcome your involvement! Join us in our worthwhile causes. Help charities along with making friends and having fun along the way!

❤️ We’re SO close… can you help us fill ONE last raffle box?

Our Love Fund Auction is coming together beautifully, but we have one more raffle box waiting to be filled—and we’d love a little help from our amazing community!

We’re looking for someone (or a few friends to team up!) to donate items for a themed box valued at $50–$75.

Think delicious high-end coffees, flavored syrups, Baileys, fun mugs or anything that makes a cozy cup of coffee feel extra special.

Have another great idea? We’d love that too! We’re keeping a list of our raffle themes so every box is different.

And remember—this is more than just a raffle box. Every donation helps Caring Women’s Connection continue supporting women and children in need right here in our community.

Every vote helps A Safe Place continue providing free services to those in need. We support survivors, their children, and their pets through services that include shelter, housing, counseling, legal advocacy, crisis intervention, youth services, prevention education, and more.

🐾 We also provide a safe place for pets, so survivors do not have to leave their beloved pets behind.

What an incredible reminder of what we can accomplish when women come together to help our community.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and supporters, 78 students will start the school year with a backpack filled with the school-specific supplies they need to succeed. This week, we delivered 16 backpacks to Lake County Haven and 12 to Staben House, completing our deliveries to A Safe Place, Lake County Haven, and Staben House.

Behind every backpack is a child who will walk into school feeling prepared, confident, and cared for. Behind every backpack is a community that believes in investing in our children and their future.

To everyone who donated, shopped, packed, sorted, and delivered—thank you. Your kindness and generosity are making a meaningful difference in the lives of local families, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Together, we’re helping students start the school year with everything they need and the knowledge that their community is cheering them on.
