November is National Adoptions month!!

The Southeastern Adoption Consortium is hosting an adoptions event on November 6th with guest speaker, Peter Mutabazi, who is a foster/adoptive parent. You do have to register for the event and lunch will be provided.

BGH staff from foster care/licensing, adoptions and success coach will have a booth at this event to provide information about BGH and the services we provide. We hope to see you there!!

Our next class for new foster and adoptive parents will begin on Tuesday July 21st at 6PM. Classes are twice a week, Tuesday and Thur, from 6PM-9PM. Please see the schedule below.

Our foster care and adoptions team is always on the go! We'll be at the NC Blueberry Festival next Saturday June 20th in Burgaw, NC. Find our tent set up on S. Wright St.

Can't make it out to the festival but still interested in fostering or want to know more? We've got two virtual info sessions set up this month just ahead of our summer classes starting in July. You can join us in June 25th or June 30th at 6PM to learn more about the journey to becoming a licensed foster parent. Comment below or message us directly so we can send a link.

Presentamos el primer «Día de la Esperanza» del Condado de Columbus, que se llevará a cabo de 10:00 a. m. a 3:00 p. m. el 13 de junio en el campus de Boys & Girls Homes, en Lake Waccamaw. Será un día en el que BGHNC retribuirá a los niños y familias del Condado de Columbus, un lugar que tanto ha aportado a esta organización.

Los niños y las familias podrán realizarse sus exámenes físicos de otoño, así como pruebas de visión y audición en la unidad móvil del Lions Club; además, habrá una estación para tomar las huellas dactilares de los niños. Las familias podrán ver todo tipo de vehículos del Servicio de Bomberos y Rescate de Lake Waccamaw, del Departamento de Policía de Lake Waccamaw (NC), del Departamento de Policía de Whiteville (NC) y de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Columbus, así como uno de los autos de carreras de Black's Tire & Auto Service, en nuestro evento interactivo «Touch-a-Truck».

Contaremos con camiones de comida para el almuerzo y entretenimiento en nuestro pabellón. También tendremos un área de juegos infantiles, palomitas de maíz, y más expositores y vendedores; además, hasta el mediodía, se realizará una entrega de mochilas con alimentos para cada niño dentro del gimnasio de la escuela secundaria Thomas Academy (una escuela chárter de NC).

No se requiere cita previa ni identificación. Simplemente acérquese y obtenga los servicios que su familia necesita.

🩺Introducing the first ❤️Columbus County Day of Hope ❤
10 a.m.- 3 p.m. on June 13 on the campus of Boys & Girls Homes in Lake Waccamaw. This will be a day when BGHNC gives back to the children and families of Columbus County -- a place that has given so much to this organization.
🪆Children and families can get their fall physicals, vision and hearing testing on the Lions Club Vision Van, plus a kids finger-printing station. Families will see all sorts of Lake Waccamaw Lake Waccamaw Fire-Rescue, Lake Waccamaw Police Department NC and Whiteville Police Department NC and Columbus County Sheriff's Office vehicles and one of the Black's Tire & Auto Service race cars at our Touch-a-Truck event.
🚚We'll have food trucks for lunch and entertainment in our pavilion. We'll have a children's play area and popcorn and more exhibitors, vendors and a food backpack giveaway until noon for each child inside our Thomas Academy - NC Charter School high school gym.
🪪No appointments or IDs are necessary. Just come and get the services you need for your family.
