Muttley Farms has saved hundreds of dogs from euthanasia.

Each dog is rehabilitated and socialized in an open environment free of kennels and crates. Large doses of love and understanding guide these temporary residents towards the rebuilding of trust that is needed for assimilation into a new home. We work tirelessly to find the loving, permanent homes that they deserve. Placements are made throughout the United States, Canada and England.

Katie Jo - Good morning everyone. This is my favorite way to start the day. I’m in charge and I sure hope everyone knows it. We play like this all day and River has got to be the most easy going sister I’ve ever met. Right now she and Parker are trying to play but I want a piece of the action. As you can hear I’m not shy about voicing my opinion either. Ultimately I always get my way so you’d think they’d just let me join in the fun without so much sass. Have a great day my friends and stay out of this heat.

Blake & Gwen - We have learned something new this past week and that is we live in an amazing community. We were both found as strays and spent quite a bit of time in the shelter while our owners were searched for. We’ve been on social media but nobody claimed us or even wanted to adopt us. The shelter reached out to Mommy and the rest was figured out. An amazing person offered to foster us until we could leave Texas via private plane which is another miracle. When Daddy and Mommy picked us up we smelled so bad that the windows needed to be cracked on our ride to the foster. We were anxious to cuddle but totally understand keeping a distance with our current odor. Our foster home was an experience we will never forget because we were showered with love and patience and given a taste of what a real dogs life should be like. It was obvious that we haven’t had much human interaction but we quickly learned the routine and did our best to not be a burden. Aunt Gina groomed us before we left so that we look our best for the flight. She has got to be the nicest human we’ve ever met and we will always love her. I’m sure most are wondering why we didn’t go to Muttley Farms like everyone else but there’s too much going on there right now and we needed a place to land temporarily. We are both fully vetted now and got our health certificates yesterday for the flight. There’s still more change in store for us but we are happy, safe and know that we are loved. We just wanted share what’s been going on behind the scenes.

Cody - I’m bored! We all really miss Blondie and it’s just not the same. Sure Mommy brings new dogs in but they don’t stay long enough to get to know them. That last little one Maya was a pistol but super sweet and fun. I kinda wish I had played with her more so I’m keeping that in mind for the next one. We don’t have big plans this weekend because our parents are going to our friends house tomorrow evening and then away for the night on Sunday. Daddy says that Mommy really needs the break so we are doing our part to help. I know our parents are looking for sitters for future Sunday nights so if you know of anyone please pm her. We’re pretty easy to be around and everything is automated so it’s more for company. I hope you have a great weekend and that it doesn’t rain. I personally don’t care to go outside when it’s raining.

Maya - There’s a big change coming for me. I’m doing really well here at Muttley Farms but Mommy hasn’t gotten any applications she would approve. She reached out to a friend that also has a rescue and is just as picky as Mommy. Well the good news is that I’ve found a family. It’s absolutely perfect for me so I’m thrilled. I can’t believe I’ve been all over social media and they post me and just like that a perfect match. Talk about a miracle! Mommy says it takes a village to rescue and I think she’s right. I won’t be staying in a crate and I’ll have little fur siblings to play with. I’m leaving in the morning so I had bath today to make sure I smell pretty. The girls let me go into their closet and I gotta admit I was a little overwhelmed because you would not believe the dresses that are hanging in the closet that Daddy customized. Do you like the one I chose? I thought the hat really finished it off. I also wanted to tell you that I’ve made friends with Trinket. She’s forgiven me for dragging her around by her dress so that makes me happy. I gotta admit it’s pretty hard to leave her alone though. I was told I need to remember that she’s not young like me but you sure can’t tell it when she gets her dander up. She ended up chasing me with her teeth showing. Yikes right? Thank you all for sharing my story and I hope you have a great weekend.

Maya - Well change of plans so I’m still here at Muttley Farms. Nothing I did wrong though. I’m still looking for my furever home but we aren’t in any hurry cuz it needs to be the right one. I’d love to have fur siblings because I’m very social but that isn’t a deal breaker. I need a secure fenced yard and no young children because I only weight 6.9 lbs. I’ll look totally different without this ring thingy around my neck and only have a few more days until that’s behind me. I also love toys and sitting in Daddy’s lap. I have a favorite pastime that kinda gets me into trouble and that’s when I grab the little Poodles by their dresses and drag them around. I get “the look” from Mommy and that scares me to death. She doesn’t yell or anything but I know to stop trust me. I’m about a year old so I have energy but I’m very well mannered. I don’t chew on stuff because there are so many toys to keep me busy. I also use the doggie door but prefer someone to go with me. If you’d share my post to help me I sure would appreciate it. The applications are on our website MuttleyFarms.org.

Maya - Sorry for the delay in posting but it’s been kinda busy around here. I’ve got this cone thingy on because I won’t leave the sutures alone. It’s a little annoying but I’m coping. My meet & greet went good last night but I was still a little out of it. Daddy and Mommy are taking me to their house tomorrow evening for a home visit and to meet their dog to make sure we all like one another. I’m sure hoping this thing around my neck stays at Muttley Farms but Mommy says it’s all up to me. The people were very nice and I think I could be happy there so I’m anxious to meet my potential fur sibling. I plan on being on my best behavior so I’ll keep you posted. Good night everyone.

Maya -Whew what a day I’ve had. Mommy dropped me off this morning and explained everything but I think she left a few things out. I mean like needles, strangers and her not staying with me. I forgive her though cuz I know I needed this done. Next on the agenda is a meet & greet which I just found out is happening this evening. We did learn today that I weigh 6.9 lbs, about a year old and heart worm negative. All really good news Mommy says. I’m pretty tired right now so I’m going to take a nap until my company comes so gotta run. I also have no idea what’s going on with my one ear because it seems to be a little lazy right now. Maybe the anesthesia so hopefully it will stand back up. Oh well….it is what it is right?

Maya - You don’t have to be a genius to know where I am right? I’ve been all over social media but nobody claimed me so now I’m here. I had the name Misty but Mommy changed it. I’m now part of the Muttley Farms gang and loving it. I have already learned to use the doggie door but since none of the other dogs will play with me yet Mommy took me for a play date to burn off some energy. Let’s just say I had a blast. I’ll be looking for my furever home after tomorrow because I’m having the works done later today. Kinda dreading that but I’m pretty resilient so no big deal. The best guess on my age is less than a year but everyone that meets me says I’m adorable. I’ve been trying to get Trinket to play with me but she’s a little cranky and really doesn’t see the humor in my antics. Sometimes Parker will play but he’s such a Mommas boy it’s hard to keep his attention. I’m also proud of myself because I think I’ve found all the toys and boy are they everywhere. Nobody seems to mind though so I’m just enjoying life. If you know of anyone looking for a girl like me the application is on our website MuttleyFarms.org. If you don’t have a secure fenced yard I can’t live with you though and I’m also not going to a home with small children because I’m not very big myself. Things have been a little sad around here so Mommy isn’t answering messages right now and everything she knows about me has been posted. Naturally I’ll share more once she figures more out. Be safe out there and have a great day.

Blondie - With tears streaming down my cheeks this post is being written. There are no words to express the emotions felt but my heart is heavy. How do you say goodbye to your best friend who’s been with you at your worst and celebrated the best. I love all our dogs but every once in a while you get that special one that even though quirky just steals your heart. Blondie was that for me. She had a unique gift of protecting the little ones. When they went outside we would ask her to babysit and she would sit with them to watch for hawks or anything that would hurt them. We had to make the difficult decision to let our girl go yesterday. It was obvious she was not comfortable and her quality of life had been declining. Her liver function kept getting worse which caused her belly to enlarge. Once that happened it pressed against her lungs making it hard to breathe. We will never allow any of our dogs to suffer just for our sake. It’s hard watching something you love deteriorate before your eyes and knowing there’s nothing you can do about it. We take comfort in knowing that she knew she was loved and great care was taken to assure she passed peacefully with her Daddy and I beside her. Blondie came to us on October 11, 2017 from a shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized. I was able to reach the shelter just before her turn was coming. A very dear friend dropped what they were doing and went to pick her up and she arrived with 3 others. Almost from the start she was my sidekick and although she was very sweet there’s no doubt she would defend me if she thought I was in danger. When we lived on property she seems unapproachable to most people but when we moved into a gated community she thrived. To say she will be missed is a huge understatement and she leaves a void in my heart. But that void will be filled with wonderful memories. She gave so much and we feel blessed that we were able to be her furever family. Please hug your babies because we never know when it’s the last time. I knew I wouldn’t have her forever but even if I did it wouldn’t be long enough. Fly high sweet girl and watch over the little ones until we meet again. I will always love you baby girl!

Ike & Francy - Well the day has arrived. We are getting ready to board the plane and head to our new home. This is our first flight ever and we could hardly sleep last night from excitement. So many changes in such a short amount of time but we are very happy. This is nothing short of a miracle and we want to thank everyone that helped to make this happen especially the pilot. I really does take a village to save so many of us. We feel like movie stars with this royal treatment. We won’t be needing our Texas drawl anymore so need to start practicing something else but we have no idea what our new people sound like. We’ve had a great time at Muttley Farms and will miss our new friends but we are about to make new ones so who can complain. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day and thank you again.
