This little deer mouse came to member rehabber Krissy just a few weeks ago with his eyes barely open and a long journey ahead of him. Thanks to the dedicated care of our small rodent team, he has been growing stronger every day!

Our small rodent team is full of extra-small babies, and this little guy is one of many receiving care. We're excited to share that he is now weaning, exploring on his own, and well on his way to release in just a few short weeks.

Since arriving, he has doubled his weight and now tips the scales at a whopping 10 grams! It may not sound like much, but for a deer mouse, that's a big milestone worth celebrating.

Every tiny patient reminds us that even the smallest lives deserve a second chance. ❤️

Good luck to those taking the exam today!

Fawn season has officially kicked off, and our fawn rehabilitators are quickly filling up with little ones in need of care. As intake numbers continue to rise, there are a few fawn-specific items on our wishlists that would make a tremendous difference for the volunteers caring for them.

Did you know that wildlife rehabilitators in New York State are all volunteers? They receive no pay for the countless hours they spend feeding, cleaning, medicating, transporting, and caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. Every animal that comes through their doors is cared for out of compassion and dedication.

North Country Wild Care is not a wildlife center, we are a network of licensed rehabilitators who care for wildlife directly from our homes. That's why our organization works hard to raise funds and gather supplies to help support these incredible volunteers and the animals they care for.

If you'd like to help support our fawn rehabilitators this season, please consider purchasing an item from our wishlist. Every bottle, blanket, feeding supply, and cleaning product helps ensure these young fawns receive the best possible care.

We are so grateful for our amazing team of volunteers and for a community that continues to support wildlife rehabilitation year after year. Thank you for helping us give these animals a second chance. ❤️

Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Programming!

Now that our Spring Gala is behind us and we're settling back into the busy wildlife season, we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this year's event such a tremendous success.

This year's Gala was especially meaningful as we had the opportunity to surprise and recognize two of our founding members Cara H. & Nancy K. for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to wildlife rehabilitation over the years. It was a truly special moment that reminded us just how far North Country Wild Care has come and how many incredible people have helped make our mission possible.

To everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, bid on auction items, purchased raffle tickets, or supported us in any way, thank you. Your generosity directly helps us provide care to the thousands wild animals that come into care each year with our member rehabbers.

We are incredibly grateful not only for those who joined us at the Gala, but also for those who support us every day by sharing our posts, making the call when wildlife needs help, volunteering their time, and believing in our mission.

We couldn't do this without you, and we are already looking forward to making next year's Gala even bigger and better!

From all of us at North Country Wild Care, thank you for being part of our wildlife family. 💚🦊🦉🦌
