Healthy relationships require trust at their foundation. In the barn, trust can look like a safe and calm stall, adequate feed, outdoor shelter from the elements, routine grooming, elimination of common triggers, and even spending time with your horse and being kind.
You cannot force someone to trust you, and the same is true of horses. Horses are naturally attracted to calmness... and they remember how you make them feel. They observe their surroundings, test the atmosphere, and recall their memory. When they feel they can trust you, they will come close.
Just as one might strive to have a "horse proof" barn, free of any potential hazards, we too can use our God given abilities to steer clear of life hazards. The Bible tells us to guard our hearts, stand guard, and be watching. We can be proactive versus reactive.
What can you do to spruce up your life? How can you be watchful for any potential hazards? How can you be a magnet for peace, calm, and trust?
