LSTA Troop D Grant-a-Wish LSTA Troop D Grant-a-Wish grants wishes to children with terminal or life threatening conditions. We serve the five parishes in the Troop D area.

The Louisiana State Troopers Association- Troop D is very active and involved in the community. One of the programs they participate in is the Grant~a~Wish Program. The nonprofit organization is modeled after the national Make-A-Wish Foundation. Grant~a~Wish provides funding and resources for children with terminal, significant life altering, or life-threatening illnesses. The program allows the w

ish child to receive his/her wish. Funds that are raised for the program allows the wish child to take trips, meet celebrities or athletes, shopping sprees, and have unique experiences in which their wish becomes a reality. Captain Benny Broussard, Senior Trooper Andrew Leonards, and Erika Leonards are serving as wish coordinators for the Troop D area. Troop D encompasses the parishes of Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, Beauregard and Allen. Erika is a 5th grade teacher and makes her home in Lake Charles. Grant~a~Wish has become a successful and integral part of the local community. The program is funded through private donations, raffles, business partnerships, and an annual golf tournament. The average wish costs around $5,000.
