Today, Kiwanis Southwest had the opportunity to provide lunch for the incredible faculty and staff at MJ Kaufman Elementary—a school that holds a very special place in our hearts.

A big thank you to Jason Guillory and everyone at Mr Bill’s for helping make this possible. Judging by the amazing smell filling the halls and the smiles on so many faces, I’d say it was a hit.

We’re grateful for the partnership with MJ Kaufman and for all they do each day for our children and our community. 💙💛

Kiwanis Southwest was proud to be part of the Children’s Miracle Network / CHRISTUS Ochsner NICU Reunion as part of our annual Community Baby Shower.

What a wonderful day for an even better cause. It was an honor to be alongside so many families, volunteers, and community partners celebrating life, hope, and the incredible journey of these little miracles.

We’re also proud that all of the baby items collected during our Community Baby Shower will be donated to New Life Counseling to help support expectant mothers, newborns, and families in our community.

Beautiful weather, great people, and a whole lot of love made for a truly special day. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make it possible.

Kiwanis Southwest will also be hosting our Community Baby Shower during this event! We invite everyone to help us support local families by dropping off supplies for newborns, infants, and expectant mothers.

Items like diapers, wipes, clothing, bottles, and other essentials are always appreciated. Cash donations are welcome as well and will go directly toward helping those in need right here in our community.

Let’s come together and make a difference for these families—every little bit helps!

Today, Kiwanis Southwest Louisiana had the honor of hosting our quarterly multi-club meeting at The Terrace Restaurant. As always, Caymn and Bry took outstanding care of us—we truly appreciate everything they do to make our meetings run smoothly.

We had a packed house and were honored to hear from John Fleming Louisiana State Treasurer, who shared his background and encouraged everyone to check the state’s unclaimed property website for any funds that may belong to them: https://www.treasury.la.gov/unclaimed-property

We also heard updates from Lt. Governor Amanda Fontenot Johnson, and several local Kiwanis clubs shared exciting upcoming events. The Kiwanis Club of South Lake Charles was on hand selling raffle tickets for their “Sportsman’s Raffle.”

Looking ahead, don’t forget our Community Baby Shower on May 2 at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital. We’ll be collecting essential items for infants and expecting mothers, and cash donations are always appreciated.

Members of Kiwanis Southwest Louisiana pulled double duty today! We started the morning at Prien Lake Elementary presenting the Golden Rule Awards.

As many of you know, this is not an academic award. Students are nominated by their teachers and school staff for simply being kind, helpful, and a good person to those around them.

Recognizing young people for living by the Golden Rule — treating others the way they want to be treated — is something our club truly loves to do. It’s one of our favorite awards because it celebrates character, kindness, and the kind of behavior that makes our community better every day. 💛

Kiwanis Club of Southwest Louisiana kicked off our Golden Rule campaign to Barbe Elementary.

These students were recognized for treating others the way they would want to be treated — living out The Golden Rule in their daily lives.

The first-place winner’s teacher from Barbe Elementary wasn’t able to attend the 2016 presentation, so she chose to videotape it instead… how awesome is that! We love seeing teachers celebrate their students in such a special way.
