When we learned about 18 dogs from a hoarding situation who had been sitting in a high-kill shelter in Palmdale for over a month, we knew we had to step in. As their story began to spread, the community rallied—many people came to meet the dogs, younger pups started finding homes, and other rescues joined the effort. But, as we so often see, the senior dogs continued to be overlooked.
Then came the heartbreaking reality: the remaining dogs were given a euthanasia deadline. With very little time to plan and knowing we had to act quickly, we made the spontaneous trip to Palmdale. Although this was something we had never done before, we said yes to every single senior dog available—because we couldn’t bear to leave one behind.
After a long drive home, each dog is now receiving extensive medical care through Rise Pet Health as they now begin their journey toward healing. Many of these dogs still have a long road ahead—medical needs, emotional recovery, and the stability they’ve never truly had.
Please consider opening your heart and adopting one of these deserving senior dogs. If you’re unable to adopt, you can still make a life-changing difference—please consider supporting their recovery and helping us continue saying “yes” to dogs like these by donating. (Link in Bio)
