Today we came together to honor the life of K-9 Fritz, who passed away September 9, 2025. Our hearts go out to the Lafayette Police Department and the Mouton family during this difficult time. 💙🐾

A special thank you to Pet Passages - Lafayette, La and Bridget Thibodeaux for helping us create a meaningful tribute for Fritz. Your compassion and support mean so much.

We also want to extend our gratitude to all K-9 handlers for their tireless dedication and service to our community.

Rest easy, Fritz. You will never be forgotten. 🖤💙

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of K-9 Fritz of the Lafayette Police Department due to a sudden medical issue.

End of Watch: September 9, 2025

Fritz was more than just a K-9 — he was a loyal partner, protector, and beloved member of the law enforcement community. His dedication, courage, and unwavering service to the citizens of Lafayette will never be forgotten.

A memorial service to honor K-9 Fritz will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Pet Passages - Lafayette, La, hosted by Acadiana K-9.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Fritz’s handler and family, as well as the entire Lafayette Police Department, during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we remember and honor the life of this extraordinary K-9.

Rest easy, Fritz. Your watch is complete, and your service will forever be remembered. 🐾💙

🖤💙 In Loving Memory of Senior Corporal Segus Jolivette 💙🖤

One year ago today, we lost a true hero — Senior Corporal Segus Jolivette — who was tragically killed in the line of duty.

Sr. Cpl. Jolivette was more than an officer. He was a protector, a mentor, and a friend to so many in this community. His strength, integrity, and heart left a lasting impact on everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

His dedication to service and his commitment to making a difference set the standard for us all. At Acadiana K-9, we feel his absence every day, but we also carry his legacy with us in everything we do.

To his family, loved ones, and fellow officers — we stand with you in remembrance and gratitude. His sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Sr. Corporal Jolivette. Your legacy lives on, and we’ve got it from here. 💙🐾

One year ago today, we lost a hero. Corporal Segus Jolivette gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, serving with courage, honor, and unwavering commitment to protecting others.

Though time has passed, the ache remains. We remember not only how he died, but how he lived. Corporal Jolivette lived with strength, compassion, and a heart for the community that he loved dearly.

To the family, friends, and fellow officers still carrying this loss, you are not forgotten, and neither is Corporal Jolivette. We honor the badge, but even more, we honor the person behind it.

🐾🖤 Are you looking for your forever bestfriend? Introducing Briggs! 🖤🐾

Estimated 5-6 years old currently. Was found as a stray, captured, and never claimed. Went through multiple fosters and homes but returned due to human errors (not kenneling and him destroying furniture, leaving unattended with other dogs and getting into fights)
Shelter life was not great to him and he became untrusting of new people and reactive. Sent to ZenDog for an eval and the shelter staff forgot to pick him up so I took him home.

What I found was a dog who needed so much confidence. He was wary of men, had a flight or fight response, didn’t trust other dogs. All of this has changed over the years. He is no longer people reactive, does well with other dogs supervised (will resource guard food and toys), he’s kennel trained, house trained, good on leash, and an overall snuggler. He can still be wary of new people but once he bonds, he bonds hard! He has never bitten anyone under my care but I have also advocated for him in stressful situations and handled his field trips appropriately. He has a basic command foundation of sit, down, wait, stay, kennel, and he gives paw. He loves to be brushed and does well with baths and the blow dryer. He currently lives with 5 other dogs, 2 kids and an infant, cats, tortoises, and rabbits.

Ideally he would thrive with older kids but well behaved toddlers are good too! A home with no other dogs or possibly 1-2 others would be best as he thrives on attention. My preference is for a rescue or trainer to take him in, but if directly adopted from me I‘d require a foster to adopt situation first (before fully committing)!
