Right now, we are in desperate need of volunteer drivers.

Every week, generous community partners donate prepared meals that help stock our community fridges. Those meals help feed families, seniors, individuals facing hard times, and neighbors who simply need a helping hand.

The problem isn’t a lack of food.

The problem is that we don’t have enough drivers to get the food where it needs to go.

Our volunteer drivers are the link between food that has been donated and people who are counting on it. Without them, our ability to serve the community is severely limited.

Most delivery routes take less than an hour, but the impact lasts much longer.

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering but weren’t sure where you could make a real difference, this is one of those opportunities. A small investment of your time can help ensure that good food reaches people who need it.

Please consider signing up for a delivery shift. If you can’t volunteer, sharing this post may help us find someone who can.

We have the food.

We have the refrigerators.

We have the volunteers who clean, organize, and maintain them.

Right now, we simply need more drivers.

Thank you for helping us keep our community fed. 💙

We are currently in need of volunteer delivery drivers to assist with food pickups at Lagneaux’s (445 Ridge Road, Lafayette, LA 70506) between 2:00 PM and 2:15 PM, Tuesday through Friday only. Each day, we need two drivers: One to deliver to our Lafayette fridge at 2905 E. Simcoe Street, Lafayette...

Sometimes the beauty of our community brings tears to my eyes. Today was one of those times.

I always love when Lagneaux's reaches out and says they’re out of food donation containers—that means that 900 more meals have been delivered! Thank you Toby and your team for all you do.

Save It Self Storage donates a space for our containers that have been donated by Taylors International Services Inc. We did not ask for much storage space and our unit was busting at the seams. SaveIt generously offered a larger space. Imagine my surprise when I opened the door to the new unit and saw how large it is. Many of our board members are storing organizational supplies at their homes—you should see my home office!! This provides plenty of space to store all of it and even grow a bit. Thank you so much, Lisa and team for your generosity. You Rock!!

If you are in need of a storage unit, please consider Save It Self Storage. They are doing fantastic work in our community and will even donate a percentage of your monthly rental to the Lafayette Community Fridge-Powered by Foodies of Lafayette Project. Let’s help and give to the folks that help and give to our community.

Other friends that are making a difference: Logic Refrigeration HVAC, McMillan's Pub, Tboys Flea Market, VE , Destination India Restaurant and Bar Lafayette, Louisiana Thank you all so much!

I seem to have something in my eye.

Lafayette Community Fridge-Powered by Foodies of Lafayette City of Scott location progress. The structure has been closed in, sealed, and Hardy Plank has been applied. Electricity has been run. We are moving along nicely. This thing is a work of art.

Huge thanks to Seth Bigbuckworldchamp and Shawn Lanclos at Logic Refrigeration HVAC for making this dream become a reality! Also a special thanks to Mayor Jan-Scott Richard, and the city of Scott for providing the location, and in turn investing back into their community!

We should be up and running soon!

Big things are happening in Scott. 💙

Construction has officially begun on the newest Lafayette Community Fridge-Powered by Foodies of Lafayette project in partnership with the City of Scott, and we could not be more excited to see this come to life.

A huge thank you to Seth and Shawn of Logic Refrigeration HVAC for building the structure and for donating another double-commercial refrigerator for this location. Their continued generosity and support mean so much to this mission.

We also want to thank Mayor Jan-Scott Richard and the City of Scott for working with us to help make this project a reality for the community.

This is how real change happens — people, businesses, and local government coming together to do something meaningful for others.

More information is coming soon, but today we just wanted to pause and say thank you to everyone helping make this next Lafayette Community Fridge location possible.
