To every child I have coached over the last decade - this shirt is for you.

"You are enough. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."

I will NEVER follow an order to purposely hurt children that I advocate for on a daily basis. I made that abundantly clear when I was directly told to do so, and I informed the President what it is I do for a living and why I would NEVER tell ANY child that they were not "good enough" to be in a tournament we should not be forced to play in by cutting 3 of my 10 recreation players for an upper tournament they screwed up by putting up into.

Yes, I disobeyed a direct order and yes, I recorded it.

As a result, after 10 years I have now been "fired" from my volunteer coaching position as a Wea Baseball Coach.

However, we just got an email that an exception has been made due to the GREAT advocacy of the baseball director and now ALL of the kids get to play, and I personally received one stating that "Additionally, my two children" are welcome to play and I am welcome to attend the public event and enjoy it alongside the other parents. Thank you Mr. President. I will be there, cheering my butt off for these kids I have fought so hard for.

And you know what?

It was worth it.

You know what this company has stood for since the VERY beginning?

YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH. When I am told to do something that I have the training and sense to know will 10000% harm them, don't be surprised when my answer is to tell you NO, and clearly explain WHY.

NEW RULE:

If you want your child to grow up to be exactly who YOU imagined they would be, you’re not focused on loving your child ... you’re focused on a script you wrote for their life.

Children are not projects to be managed, products to be customized, or Build-A-Bears assembled to meet our preferences. They are unique human beings with their own identities, dreams, personalities, and journeys.

Parenting isn’t about creating a child in our image or raising a child to fulfill our expectations. It’s about loving the child who is already there — a person who is uniquely themself.

That includes children who are gay. Children who are trans. Children who are different from us in ways we never expected. The measure of our love isn’t whether our children become who we hoped they would be. It’s whether they know they are loved, valued, and safe when they become who they truly are.

Every child deserves that kind of love.
