ON THIS DAY in 2005, the Native American statue atop Endicott Rock, welcoming boats & beachgoers at the Weirs Channel, was unveiled. The statue was a gift to the city & the state by WAC to replace the previous statue of "Captain Jack" which was vandalized beyond repair. WAC commissioned Bob Morton, an fine art professor emeritus at Plymouth State University, to create the bronze statue.
