Congratulations to Streator Unlimited, Inc, the Chamber's March 2025 Business of the Month!
Celebrating their 60th Anniversary this year, Streator Unlimited began in 1965 with the Mission to enrich the lives of adults with disabilities by teaching skills that will enable them to reach their fullest potential, live as independently as possible and become integrated into the community.
SU provides day and vocational training for 70 adults with disabilities. These include classes such as nutrition, coffee club, music therapy, sports, job skills, arts and crafts, basic academics, and utilization of computers. They also provide paid work opportunities to adults with disabilities at their sheltered workshop.
Their five group homes provide 24 hour/day support for 32 adults with developmental disabilities. This includes all aspects of having a healthy and active life in our community. They also run an 8-unit apartment building for low-income adults with disabilities.
SU has 61 employees and a budget of $5.5 million. They are one of the larger employers in Streator. They shred documents, confidentially destroy computer hard drives, powder-coat painting, washing, and repairing plastic totes, packaging, assembly, quality control inspections and newsletter mailings.
Mark your calendar for Streator Unlimited’s annual Fundraiser at the city park. "Fun Day" is Tuesday, July 1st with food vendors, live entertainment, and activities for all.
Thank you Streator Unlimited for your investment in the Streator community and the Streator Chamber! 💚💙
