Due to unforeseen circumstances with the rescue, we are urgently looking for placement for the remaining 8 dogs in JLR’s care. Adoption would be best at this time, but open to fosters considering it is a right fit.

Sam, Troy, Benny and Angel are the last 4 left from the Buyeo dog meat truck rescue that took place on July 16, 2019.

These 4 very special, sensitive seniors have spent 3/4 of their lives without a place to call home and people to call family. During their first years before rescue, they were held captive, abused, severely traumatized, and crammed in metal rusty cages ontop of each other with nowhere to go and every day in fear of death.
Since rescue, all 4 have been in our boarding facility in hopes that their trauma and fear of humans would subside. While all have made some strides, they are still shy but still wishing and wanting to be loved. Despite what they went through, they search for safety and trust.

Sam and Troy are our shyest two and have never left each others side. Ideally we would love to find a home for them together. If they cannot be adopted together and the only way they can find a home is apart, we would sadly have to separate them.

Benny and Angel have made progress and continue to search for a loving family. All four of these seniors adoption donation fees will be heavily discounted as all we want is for them to spent the remaining years they have left, loved and safe.

Starburst and Sweetart are lovely brothers. Their sisters were adopted together and while we wish they could be too, they could be adopted separately as well. They are both adorable, intelligent and gentle.

Amos has been with us since he was 2 months old. He was found in the street wandering alone in traffic. He is now 5 1/2 years old and also spent the majority of his stay with us in boarding. Amos adores and loves people.

Pluto was part of the Miryang Dog Meat Farm Rescue that took place on March 29th, 2023. 26 dogs were rescued that day, and Pluto is the last one left, who has not found a furever family 💔. He is adorable, ,shy, sweet, and charming.

Pluto, Amos, Starburst and Sweetarts adoption donation fee will also be discounted as we just want them all to find forever, loving families.

All dogs with the exception of Amos would thrive best in a home with another resident dog. Please only apply if you are an experienced adopter and are willing to open up your home and hearts with patience, love, safety and compassion. Every single one of theses dogs are very special and deserve a wonderful, loving, happy start, of the rest of their lives.

Is anyone else surprised that this adorable Shiba bear is still searching for a furever home?! Like HOW?!
Sweetart has been with us for quite some time and we just cannot grasp why! He must be waiting for a very special family. Maybe a family that will adopt him and his brother together 🙏🏽. Their two sisters live a wonderful, happy, loved life in a home together and we are praying for the same for the brothers.

While we know double adoptions are hard to come by let alone sibling adoptions, he of course can also get adopted separately, but would do best with a gentle, confident friendly dog in the home. Sweetart has opened up over time and become more curious and confident with humans, but of course with the guidance of his brother, fur friends and patiently building bonds with the volunteers.
He can still be shy and take some time to warm up to but once he trusts you, he is a sweet, smiling captivating fellow! He is an absolute heart throbber!

Troy our very timid boy, is part of the Buyeo dog meat truck rescue that took place on July 16, 2019. That day, 28 dogs were rescued mid route to the meat farm. 4 tragically passed away, 20 were gratefully adopted, and 4 are now left. Troy is one of four.

The Buyeo dogs were raised for meat. Some were even born on the farm. Their first experiences in life were not breezy beaches, or long walks, or love from a family. It wasn’t freedom, or safety or comfort. It was horror, fear and trauma. It was terror linked to humans because those are the ones who tortured, slaughtered, and made them suffer in what felt like never ending pain. Dog meat trade dogs have a very delicate heart and while it can take a long time to open up, when they do, it’s one of the most rewarding experiences anyone could ever imagine.

Troy is most comforted by Sam. These two have been by each others side for the last 7 years in boarding, and have never really taken to other dogs or humans. Troy, sadly is more timid than Sam when it comes to human interaction, but does better with unfamiliar dogs than Sam does. Troy has not quite yet felt that moment where he can feel safe, as his Trauma is severe. Dogs like Troy and Sam need one on one love, patience and understanding. Someone who is experienced in the trauma department and someone with deep compassion for the heaviness they have been carrying most of their life.
Boarding centers can be very overwhelming, loud and scary for timid dogs. We feel this is why he was never really able to let down his guard and relax. He has only know fear and flight mode.

Our hope is Troy and Sam gets adopted together since they have been by each others side for the last 7 years. It would be heartbreaking to separate them, but we also want them to know what family is. So if together is not in their cards, they can be adopted separately if that’s what it takes to have a family.

Our biggest wish for the rest of the truck dogs, is to spend the rest of their lives in comfort, surrounded by love, and able to heal from the wounds they suffered at the hands of people. We want them to know what it means, to finally be happy and that not every human out there is bad.

Troy, like Sam doesn’t have many years left. He deserves love, safety and a place to call home. His eyes hold many tragic memories but we want his heart to hold the love, we have always wished for him.

Ideally we would love to find a home where they can be adopted together. We are not sure how he will be without him after 7 years together.

Realistically we also know, double adoptions are hard to find. So If that’s not in Sam and Troy’s life cards, they would both need a dedicated, gentle, loving, compassionate family with, or without a gentle friendly dog. Sam avoided all dogs except Troy. He was terrified of them and never stood up for himself. He sadly has scars from other dogs. He's such a gentle boy.

The sad truth is, Sam doesn’t have many years left. We know there must be someone out there that will give Sam the most amazing last years of his life 🥹🙏🏽.

Our biggest wish for the rest of the truck dogs, is to spend the rest of their lives in comfort, surrounded by love, and able to heal from the wounds they suffered at the hands of people. We want them to know what it means, to finally be happy and that not every human out there is bad.

It’s a beautiful night for a beautiful boy to be on his way to his furever family!

Akela was rescued 3 years and 4 months ago during the Miryang Dog Meat Farm rescue, and he is finally going to his furever home 🥹. Akela is number 25 of 26 adopted from this rescue. Pluto is the last one left, still searching for a furever happy ending of his own.

Akela is heading to a very special home that is near and dear to our hearts.
He will be heading home to a JLR adopter marking Akela number 3 from our Rescue! Thank you so much adopters for not only opening up your heart and home to three JLR babies, but also having a soft spot for the gentle, quiet shy ones. They have all blossomed in your care, and we know Akela will feel just as safe, loved and spoiled as each and every one of his fur siblings and soon will blossom too 🥹.
To say we are grateful would be an understatement. We are so blessed to have your family as part of the Jindo Love Family and we cannot wait to see Akela enjoying his new wonderful life. A life he has always deserved. Thank you adopters!

✈️ ATL

There is a special freedom flight in motion tonight, and everyone is smiling with pure joy 🥹.

Pixy who was rescued with 3 of her siblings a year ago, is finally heading to her furever home with an amazing family!
What makes this adoption extra special, is she will be reunited with her sister Nabi ( fka Pez ) to live together, furever 🥹.

Nabi has opened up and blossomed beautifully showing her quirky, adorable personality thanks to the patience, love, and compassion from her family. We know Pixy will feel just as safe, loved and adored by them too 🥹. We are so excited for their first meeting, but most of all, for them to take on all the happy days and make happy memories together with their wonderful family.

Thank you adopters for adopting another Jindo Love baby and reuniting the sisters to be together forever 🥹.
Your hearts are so big and we are so blessed to have you as part of the jindo love family. Thank you for giving these two sisters a life we have always dreamed of for them 💞.

✈️ IAD

A very special boy is on his freedom flight right now, and our hearts are bursting with joy 💞!

Rowan was dumped at the kill shelter at barely 4 months old with skin issues and severely matted fur. He was in pretty bad shape when we rescued him, but was given the medical care he needed, and the love he very much deserved.

Rowan also ended up needing surgery while in our care. Despite the challenges he faced, he started every day with a smile and continued to wish for a furever home 🥹.
The foster mom and volunteers gave him extra love and care to ensure his recovery went smooth and his spirit remained bright 🥹! They made sure he went to all his vet appointments and did all his exercises to stay strong.

During the time of his recovery, while he worked so hard to heal,
A very incredible family near and dear to us, heard his wish from afar.

This wonderful family of his have adopted 2 dogs from us and we feel so blessed that Rowan was picked to be their third 🥹.
Thank you adopters for opening up your home and heart to a third Jindo love baby. We are so thankful to have such loving, incredible adopters like you, and we cannot wait for Rowan to be spoiled and loved furever! He will have all beautiful memories and wonderful experiences from here on out, and we cannot wait to see all the happy updates!

Benny is a Donggyeongi dog. The Donggyeongi breed is an ancient, rare, and endangered dog breed native to South Korea. There are only about 600 left. Donggyeongi Dogs have a natural, unique bob tail.

Benny was rescued from the Buyeo Dog Meat Truck on July 17, 2019. He was 10 months old. He has been with us for over 7 years. He is gentle, shy, timid but longing for love. He has made some strides along the way, but is needing a loving, patient, compassionate family that will be able to give him the time and space for him to open up and trust again. He needs a family that understands his trauma and gives him the space to heal. A family that will show him that no one will ever hurt him again. Since Benny relies on other dogs for comfort and guidance, he will need a gentle, friendly dog sibling that will help him navigate through his fears as well.

Benny is special and while Benny may never be a lap dog or a needy dog, he has a radiant heart and has endured so much. He is a brave, loyal boy and all we want for him is to live out the rest of his life happy and loved.
Sadly he does not have many years left. There must be a family out there that is willing to take him in and love him for who he is. *Because of his age, his adoption donation fee will be heavily discounted. We just want this boy to have a place to call home.

It’s a beautiful day for 2 lucky babies to go home!

Blueberry, our little brindle, cutie that was rescued hours away from euthanasia at the kill shelter on 7/8/25, is now about to start her new wonderful life with an incredible family! She was very shy and human avoidant when we first rescued her, but has slowly started to find her confidence with the dedicated help of the foster mom and her best friend Cheonsa!

Thank you adopters for picking this special girl and opening up your hearts to helping her navigate her fears. Your patience and dedication for her, was felt throughout your application 🥹. We can’t wait to see her grow with you, and her new fur sibling Tom! We think he will be an excellent role model and take her under his wing 🥹. We dreamed of this happy life for her 💛.

Another very exciting adoption is Cheonsa! Blueberry’s bestie is heading to her own furever family too, and not too far from each other so they can have play dates!

Cheonsa and her 2 puppies were also rescued from the kill shelter on 3/28/25. She has helped many dogs, including the bag babies and kittens survive at the foster facility while she waited for a furever home. She has been such a wonderful mom to everyone.

Today, she is heading to a family that is very familiar to her, and a family that is near and dear to us as they have 2 JLR pups already. Chenosa will be #3 in this beautiful family…but it is a very special three. Chenosa is heading home, to be reunited with her very own puppies Howie & Harper!!! The family of 3 will never be apart anymore and our hearts are beaming with happiness! Thank you adopters for not only adopting both siblings to keep them together, but also adopting their mother !!! This is such an incredible unforgettable adoption 😭🥹💛. Your hearts are so big and all three are so loved and we could not of asked for a better happy ending 🙏🏽.
We cannot wait to see the reunion and the three of them together again 🥹.
